About Me: susibill( 1098Feedback score is 1000 to 4,999) About Me

susibill is Susi and Bill Norman. Welcome!

My Ty Peace Bears and other Beanies and Buddies have been auctioned on Ebay beginning in October 2000 with the entire winning bids donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in Dallas, Texas. Beginning in May 2006 my auctions have been listed through Ebay's Mission Fish. The purpose of my auctions is to raise breast cancer awareness. Along the way I have made donations to the Komen Foundation totaling over $12K .... and have made lifelong friendships. Information on the Komen Foundation may be obtained from this address: www (dot)breastcancerinfo(dot)com or by calling 1-800-I'M-AWARE (800-462-9273) The Komen Foundation Site contains information about Komen, a calendar of events and information on grants and funding. There is a talk back section on survivorship, family and friends, what individuals are doing in the fight against cancer and a "sound off" section. There is also a link at the bottom of this page that takes you to the Komen Foundation web site which gives instructions on how to perform a breast self exam.

~ Honoring The Pink Ribbon Ladies ~

I am very grateful to Andrea V. for this beautiful picture of her Maternal Grandmother.

Thanking Jeannette Pierce for this Lovely Picture of her Aunt Agnes Duncan Anderson.

In Memorial to Anne, from her Brother Jim. "She left us quite a few years ago but the memory of her is as alive as ever."

I had the honor of meeting this Special Pink Ribbon Lady, and her sweet Lacey, in person, after years of online "getting to know you" emails. She visited me here in North Myrtle Beach and it was my pleasure to know her. Her passing in 2006 leaves me forever sad.

Pets make our life so special!!

Vicki's little Lacey was her sweetheart and forever companion!!

"Everything that you give away, will return to you."

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June of 2000 and had two breast surgeries along with chemo treatments and radiation. I am so grateful to so many people for their help and inspiration both then and now in my life. My Husband, Bill who went with me to every treatment, My Daughter Jenni who, in her own way thru the use of the written word and her thoughtfullness in bringing me soft stuffed animals to hold and just being "Jenni" My Friends Andrea and Susan who wrote and called and kept up with me all during my treatments and remain very dear to me. And, of course, My Sis (((Moe))) who has given me something very priceless...."I Will Follow You, Sis!!" Thanking all who have supported the Pink Ribbon Auctions since they began in October 2000. I could have never done it alone.

"Give me one moment in time when I'm more than I thought I could be. You're a winner for a lifetime if you seize that one moment in time. Make it shine!!!!"

This is Bill's and my Lovely Daughter

This is my Dearest Friend, and a Very Special Friend of the Pink Ribbon Auctions, My Sis, Moe.

Funny Multicolored Bear, How you do delight.
To question you, I wouldn't dare, You make the whole world bright.
To see you through a child's eyes gives you heart and soul,
And that is why, I'll surmise, You and I will never grow old.

A letter from Karen: "Thanks for this gorgeous Bear! I just wanted to let you know that the Bears I buy from you mean a lot to me and will never be resold, unless, as yourself, I become involved in a cause where I will be able to help by donating all proceeds as well. Both of my Grandmas passed away from breast cancer. I make sure I have yearly checkups as I'm the second generation and more at risk than even my Mother to someday have breast cancer. I don't worry about it, if it happens I know life will still be fine. I'm so glad that so much research has been done to advance the treatment for so many women, so many more women can live now. I look forward to being a part of more of your auctions~ ~God Bless~ "

A letter from Sue: "Hi Susi, I've been keeping an eye on the auction - so pleased with the result tonight! The lady who bought the Peace is a lovely lady who has bought a couple of beanies/sweaters from CHERISH before and I know that she will be delighted to have this set to raise money for the Susan G Komen Foundation. Congrats! Let's do it again sometime!!! I've just finished a sweater for I Love Denver - that was fun! Best wishes, Sue "

A letter from Pat: "Hi Suzi - The gorgeous Peace beanie arrived safely here in California. As with every one I.ve seen of these Beanies with sweaters by Sue O I'm in awe. They are so fabulous. This will be the fourth I have and each one is a work of art. I'm always thankful to get a chance to bid on one, and was particularly glad that for once it's an USA charity. I know of all the wonderful work the Susan Komen group does and am more than happy to support them. Thank you for all you do to support the the cancer patients. Pat "

Note: Of course the Susan G. Komen Foundation has International affiliates and is more than a USA charity. Many many thanks to all who have contributed to the susibill Pink Ribbon auctions. It is like joining hands all over the world. Susi

Professionally, we are broadcasters in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. This is the sign on our building here in North Myrtle Beach. You will also see pictures of the Peace Bear Museum I set up here in the year 2001. It was housed in 3 rooms of our office building until 2004 when it was moved to 2 rooms in the front of the building next to the lobby. Now, in 2006 the museum, for the most part will be dismantled. I am sad about this, but the bears no longer command the attention they once did.....and we are leasing out this part of the building. But, I intend to use a glass case to set up a small display of these beautiful beanies and keep it in a special corner of my office....as a reminder of all the friends I made along the way, many of whom I am still in contact with and as a reminder of all the golden hearts in this world.

This was the Main Museum room until 2004. It had every Swing & Tush example of Peace Bear known at that time. Also there were Friends of Peace here, and other beanies. Many of these bears were gifts and I am very grateful for the kindness of many including, Andrea, Susan G. Moe, Susan Y. Jenni, Bill, Chiharu, Angela, Susie J., Amy, Enid, Rena, Jeannie and others.

This is the Christmas Room and I call it "The Bears on Christmas Morning."

Even Peace Bears like to play with Christmas toys!! This Rocking Horse was a gift to me from Santa in 1950!!

My Childhood Santa is from the 1960's. The sled is from the same era.

OF COURSE Peace Bears from the Peace & Friends Museum Enjoy the Ocean!!

The third room of the Peace & Friends Museum has displays of dolls, gnome sculptures, and beanies.
Thank You, For Visiting The Peace & Friends Museum 2000-2006. 429 Pine Avenue, North Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29582 Phone: 843-249-6662
