Welcome to Suzy B Studios! I am so happy to be working with such a beautiful and creative medium--and I love meeting all of you creative people who use them. Thank you all for supporting us with your purchases, kind remarks, and suggestions. We welcome you all!
Beads have always been an exciting part of my life, from my earliest remembrances. I love the endless variety in color and feel that beads bring to creative expression. I have the perfect job now, collecting and gathering all kinds of wonderful beads to share with you.
We specialize in Lampwork Beads. I am a lampwork artist, so I really appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into making lampwork beads. They are all hand made, one by one, in a torch flame that melts rods of colored glass onto a metal rod forming the bead. The skill it takes to make these intricate beads takes much practice and patience. Some of the skills take years to develop–so I have lots of respect for these little works of art!
We also carry Czech glass fire polished beads and will be adding many more colors, styles and sizes in the future. These are so necessary to "fill in" between the bigger beads and give sizzle and sparkle to a design. We will also be adding Crystal Beads to this category.
Our selection of semi-precious gems and stone beads is yet to come, but will develop. I especially love the translucent beauty of Peruvian opals and chalcedony, but I will have as many selections as I can manage: pearls, turquoise, coral, citrine, peridot, jade, amethyst, tourmaline, and many more.
