FAVORITE BOOK
I've been reading The Revelation by Saint John since my teens. The brief 22 chapters in this book of the Bible talk in great extent about the return of Christ and His eternal creation. Revelation takes us into the presence of God. The book of Revelation is a window to eternity. It takes man from earthly mortality to immortality and life eternal with God. The writings of Revelation declare as blessed those who read it and those who hear the words of the prophesy and take to heart what is written in it as blessed (Rev. 1:3). The time is near.
The Lord's promise to come again and to reign eternal was given to us while He walked the earth. Before he ascended, Christ invited his 12 disciples to an upper room to celebrate the Passover. At this Last Supper Jesus told the disciples about the kingdom. He told of His coming again. He promised to prepare us a place and to take us there. It is this life eternal in the presence of God that is at the heart of our faith and is the essence of the poem below.

Dinner Party
First, invitations for 12 to an upper room
A guest of honor, ceremony, singing
Communion, a remembrance of His promise to come again
"I will not eat of this bread or drink of this cup until...you and I become one."
His farewell shook the earth, blackened the sky.
Friends mourned His leaving not knowing
The Father above was planning the first Easter surprise
The Lord's Day--a resurrection--a coming again!
The guest of honor has gone to prepare a dwelling place
With streets of gold in heavenly places.
We're invited too, but He led the way.
Because He lives, we too shall live evermore.
If these things were not so, surely He would have told us.
Peace be unto you. -Patricia Wiskur

MY BIO
I was born in Wisconsin as Patricia Ann Braaksma, but now live in the Arkansas Ozarks with my husband of 40 years, Darrell Wiskur. We moved from Illinois to the Ozarks some 30 years ago. We have six grown children and 17 grandchildren. Most of my “mommy” years were spent at home with my children. Darrell is an author, illustrator, and designer, holding several patents.
I've been asked the why of my eBay identity swimyellowduck. It was an impulsive choice. When I registered on eBay, I needed a name. However, each name I typed in came back with the message Already Taken. After my ninth attemp and in frustration I typed swimyellowduck. Hooray! It was accepted. I asked myself later, why swimyellowduck had popped into my mind. Then I recalled my childhood fascination with baby ducks from my days on the farm in Wisconsin. In the spring when there was a new batch of baby ducklings, I would follow them to the pond. These mottled brown and yellow ducklings would waddle behind their mom and launch into the water without skipping a beat. The ducklings followed their mom, looking straight ahead. They marched in unison into the water. I always marvelled to see the ducklings go from land to water without instruction from mommy duck. Each time as they made that step from land to water, I would silently wish each one success, Swim little duck! I would study how their feet went from a waddle to a paddle and breathed a sigh of relief each time another duckling launched onto the pond. I have that memory frozen in time.

EBAY UPDATE
I’ve been selling on eBay since 2007 and reached Power Seller status in 2008, which I attribute to the worldwide market of eBay.
I expanded to worldwide shipping in April of 2008, and my sales increased 30% almost overnight! My first international sale was a buyer from Portugal who bought two Hummel figurines. It was my birthday week, and my husband, Darrell, had planned a trip to Chicago to celebrate. He reserved a suite within walking distance of the Magnificent Mile so we could walk Michigan Avenue and visit our favorite haunts.
As soon as I had my suitcase unpacked, I logged onto the Internet, and up popped an eBay notice, "Sold"! then another "Sold"!
I love that I am shipping to Portugal, France, Australia, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Great Britain, Japan, etc. Ebay has been a rewarding adventure because I have met many astute collectors and entrepreneurs from around the world.

| WORLDWIDE SHIPPING
-
I ship most items in my store, FREE of charge. The item’s cost is inclusive of all packing and shipping charges, unless specified otherwise. We provide shipping as a value and convenience for buyers.
-
I ship international items with Flat Fee International Shipping based on the average mailing cost for the size and value of the item. There is give and take with a Flat Fee shipping charge. Because the shipping fee is an average mailing cost and not destination specific, sometimes the buyer pays less than the actual shipping cost and sometimes more. International buyers should add the Flat Fee International cost to the price of the item and determine if that total is a good value. A Flat Fee for international shipping expedites invoicing and generally provides the international customer with value. I don’t want to make money on shipping. For international customers buying multiple items at the same time, I figure combined postage to the specific location with the items packed in the same box and issue a Combined Purchases invoice.
-
I ship almost exclusively via USPS or FedEx.
-
My husband does all of our packing. Customers often comment on his great packing. He spares no effort to find the right box. He uses a combination of bubble wrap, foam supports, and packing peanuts—whatever he needs to give the package a Cadillac ride. |
GENERAL INFORMATION FROM EBAY ON INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:
-
Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
-
Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.
-
These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.
-
We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts." U.S. and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.
