SOME INFO "ABOUT ME"

We are Michael and Carmel Healy, modern day treasure hunters. Our hunt takes us to early morning estate sales far and wide, garage sales, flea markets and out of the way re-sale shops. We especially enjoy shopping rural country areas. We are always on the lookout for antiques, art, costume jewelry, old ephemera, one of a kind and unusual items which we collect, or sell to finance our 'habit'. Our tastes are varied and eclectic so we buy lots of everything. We don't care for reproductions and rarely will we buy any or offer any for sale. Our home is in Creswell, Oregon, a few miles south of Eugene. We sell on eBay, and through the "Antique Peddlers",  612 Main Street, Springfield Oregon, a long standing and well established antiques mall. We also sell out of our home, 'Front Street Antiques', by appointment only, and do an occasional show and numerous markets. Pay us a visit once in awhile or bookmark our sellers page to see what we have unearthed.

About Returns and Adjustments

We pride ourselves on honesty and integrity in the marketplace and believe our feedback will speak for itself.  We deal mostly in antique items meaning they are old and generally used, seldom perfect or in mint condition. We are not perfect either. At times we may describe something inaccurately, or leave a detail unmentioned that you the buyer may feel was important.  We don't do it on purpose. We will always do our best to describe all damage and flaws, but on occasion something gets by us. If we are at fault in our description please contact us before leaving negative feedback or low star ratings. We will always strive to ensure your satisfaction and I think you will find we are easy to work with and sensitive to your concerns. We don't want our customers to be disappointed so we do issue refunds in full when we are at fault, even including the buyer's shipping charges. This doesn't apply to buyer's remorse or items damaged in transit. We recommend insurance to protect against such incidents.

About Insurance

We now insure all items valued at $50.00 and upwards. This insurance cost will show up in the shipping charge. Lots of folks don't like the extra expense and we empathize, however according to eBay's new policies we (the sellers) are responsible for all items until they safely reach the buyer. If you receive an item that has been damaged in transit, please contact us immediately so that we can assist you through the process of reimbursement.

About International Shipping

As of August 10, 2009, we are offering 1st Class Mail International on a very limited basis and only to certain countries.  This is necessary because there is no tracking or insurance with 1st class mail and in many instances the item never reaches its destination. PayPal requires Proof of Delivery for seller protection against loss and or damage.

Should an item get lost, broken or stolen during transit, and the buyer files a dispute with PayPal, for non delivery, PayPal will immediately freeze our funds until the dispute is settled. Since The USPS and Certificate of Mailing receipts are not enough evidence of intent according to PayPal, they in every case will give a full refund to the buyer since the seller cannot offer proof of delivery.  The seller forfeits the item, the price received for the item, including  shipping and all eBay, PayPal fees, plus a charge back fee.  Although we empathize with our overseas buyers regarding the high cost of shipping via priority mail, we haven't a choice as we can no longer absorb these losses and fees. Priority mail offers insurance and proof of delivery and that is the only way we can stay protected.

If you are interested in bidding on an item, you may contact us to see if the item qualifies for 1st class mail to your country.

Another issue we need to address is that we sometimes encounter a situation where a buyer asks us to note the item as a gift or to state a false value on the customs form. This request usually takes place after the buyer has bid on and won the auction. This is an illegal practice and we state in every listing that we do not do this for any reason. As of August 10, 2009, all requests to falsify customs forms will be reported to eBay's trust and safety department. This is necessary for our protection against potential retaliatory or spiteful negative feedback and low star ratings.

 About Auction Style Listings

When we list an item auction style, we will not honor e-mail requests to end the listing early for a fixed price offer and we no longer respond to e-mails with these types of requests no matter how generous the offer may seem.

We apologize for our long list of policy details, however as eBay and PayPal make selling rules more stringent and enact extra regulations and policies, we have no choice but to answer with our own policies in order to stay protected. Many of these policies are in place to protect the buyer as well. It's just the once in a blue moon bad apple on both the buying and selling sides that makes it necessary for all this rigmarole.

99 % of our customers are thoughtful, considerate and honest and we extend our appreciation and thanks for your business.

Customer Satisfaction has Always been and will Continue to be our Top Priority!
