Welcome to Sydow's Antiques. If you have been to our store you know we carry a full line of high quality antiques.

Paula and Larry Sydow started Sydow's Antiques over 30 years ago and have been supplying their customers fine antiques ever since. We have evolved from a small inventory of moderate collectibles to a significant collection of fine investment quality antiques.

We take very special pride in the reputation we have in the antiques business. We guarantee that we will always be absolutely honest without exception in all our transactions with you. Additionally we guarantee everything we sell to be exactly as described--always. Each item purchased from us will receive a certificate of authenticity and appraisal.

We are fulltime dealers - this is how we earn our living - so we are very serious about making you a satisfied customer. We believe most of our customers think of us as friends not business owners. We offer an easy layaway program to fit almost any budget. Just ask. Naturally we gladly accept VISA & Mastercard.

Our full line store is located at 103 N. First in downtown Pierceton Indiana. Pierceton is about 30 minutes from Fort Wayne 2.5 hours from Chicago and 2 hours from Indianapolis. Just 4 blocks south of U.S. 30. Call for easy directions and a map.

The store is open Friday 10-5 and Saturday 10-4 (Eastern time). We are open many other days---just email to check on our hours.

We encourage no obligation appointments at any other time. Just call. Naturally anything in our online catalog is available for easy shipment. We will make all arrangements for your shipments--so don't hesitate. Our experience with shipping large or small has been very good.

As members of the Certified Appraiser's Guild of America we guarantee our appraisal to be accurate and reliable. Whether one item or an entire estate our appraisals are useful for insurance estate tax or selling and is offered at a very reasonable fee. Call for a free consultation.

Interested in learning more about antiques? We offer a wide range of antique classes and seminars. Our classes ar held at our store and also at other locations. We do many appraisal clinics for organizations at your location (Antique Road Show style). Call us if interested no obligation of course.

Shipping

We understand your concern in shipping beautiful antiques. We consider it our job to ensure the safe arrival of your piece and will do anything we can to that end. We will handle all aspects from our end----you will have nothing to do in this regard. Our shipping procedures include the following:

1. Small pieces such as a vase, jewelry, toys---We normally pack these items ourselves and ship via USPS Priority Mail. We charge you nothing for our time, just a small amount for packing materials. Naturally, we recommend full insurance on the piece.

2. Smaller items, but very fragile, such as a lamp, marble statue, etc.----we require professional packing and normally ship via UPS. We will get the exact quote for you, which will include full insurance.

3. Furniture---we use two methods for which you may chose one.

1. PakMail. This is a national firm which will build a crate for your particular item. They will then ship it via a truck freight line to your area. Upon arrival in your area, they will call you for delivery to your home. These freight companies generally deliver to the sidewalk of your home. It is your responsibility to unwrap and bring the piece into your home. This is an extremely safe way to ship, in fact, we have never had a claim using this method. It is, however, slightly more expensive than #2 below.

2. ACDelivers is a firm which will pickup your piece and blanket wrap it

in their truck. They unwrap and setup the piece in your home when they arrive. They are somewhat less expensive then #1 above but slower. Usually 4-8 weeks depending on your location. They are careful and professional.

A few final words. We have had extremely good results in shipping both large and small items. We will take care of everything for you---at no additional charge for you.

Layaway Terms

We understand that your cash flow may not always be exactly the same are the appearance of an antique you want to purchase. We sell many of our antiques on layaway (in fact, over half). We try to be flexible and fit our terms to your budget. In general, however, please note the following:

1. We require 20-25 per cent down at the time of purchase.

2. The length of the term and the amount of payments is quite dependent on the cost of the piece, your budget constraints, and our need for cash flow. If you are contemplating a layaway with us, we suggest you email or call and give us some idea of what would work well for your situation. This will give us a starting point. As said, we try to be as flexible as possible on terms.

3. The balance must be paid in full before possession of the item is arranged.

4. All monies paid are non-refundable.

5. Feel free to contact us concerning our layaway program; we normally can work out terms which will fit your needs.
