Hello! Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read about the Lilly Pad - home of the Famous Tappintoad!
The reason I started The Lilly Pad is because I live in such an isolated area on an Apple Orchard (farm) in Upstate New York. I am not complaining! I love it! It is so beautiful here! The only problem I have encountered is the distance between myself and all of the fashion I love so much. I love to shop, but there was no place to spend my hard earned money!!
I started to shop on Ebay. I could not believe the designer fashions I could get at a fraction of the costs in retail stores! I had such a good time and purchased such great items. The only problem was what to do with the items that did not fit me for one reason or another. Do I hash it out and demand refunds? Give them away as gifts? Or just throw them in my closet with all of my other clothes! I opted to sell them back on ebay again - I have met some nice people that really appreciated my efforts and enjoyed the items they purchased from me! At first, all I was interested in was to sell items that were not perfect for me and send them to people who could wear and love those items. But I became so interested in becoming a retailer that I decided to try to find the designer items and make them affordable for all!
I searched for items to sell, I purchased wholesale lists and did not find quality items easily. I demand quality items, I knew my customers would demand the same. Perhaps I am too picky, but would never damage my reputation with imitations or a lesser quality. I searched wholesalers everywhere and even spent some money on trips to their warehouses. I found nothing... Then, one day on one of my shopping expeditions I was very fortunate to have run into a store owner in a very remote area of Upstate New York. She has dealt with wholesalers that I could only have dreamed of! She is now considering retiring, and we have made an arrangement for me to try and sell her items on Ebay...
Some of her items are directly from manufacturers and some are vintage items from her returning customers (mostly from Manhattan) She has slowed her business down to mostly vintage items. She has lost touch with some of the wholesalers, except for her handbags. I will be offering her new handbags at Tappintoad (mostly Coach) along with some of her gently used bags. ...
Most of the items I will be adding to my listings will consist of clothing and handbags. Some will be from her store, some from my closet and others from purchases made on ebay that do not fit me! All items will be of high quality. ...
I hope you enjoy looking at my items and find a few treasures for yourself. I will always refund full price paid for any item you are not happy with. I expect that from anyone I purchase my items from and I know you feel the same way! There is always a home for these items - if for some reason you are not happy with your item I will refund you and sell it back on Ebay!...
I prefer to do business the easy way, I know a customer will return to my listings only if they are happy - my goal is to make you happy with your item, not to hold your money hostage and leave you feeling as if you have been taken advantage of. The old saying "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you" is my motto, and I live by it. I will give you the same service I would expect for myself. So shop with ease. I may have many items for sale at one time, and other times not to many - that is because I only wish to sell quality items. I am very picky and they do not come along that easily. As I grow, I will be contacting more manufacturers and wholesalers and eventually hope to have a fully stocked store at all times! Be sure to come back again and again to check my items.
