John's Drive-In Memories
It all began in the early '60s
A red letter day for me was a Saturday in July 1959, when my brother and I were allowed to see "The Mysterians" at the Algonquin Theater, Manasquan NJ. On that fateful day my lifelong obsession with the movies began. Back home in Montclair, I began attending Saturday matinees at the Wellmont and Royal Theaters. There I discovered the genius of Ray Harryhausen, the early work of Roger Corman, and many other B-movie masterpieces.

Posters catch my eye
Very early I begin to notice the colorful posters that adorn the lobby of our local theater. When I ask the manager if he'll sell me one, he politely refuses. Thus began my quest to acquire copies of those posters that so captured my imagination as a child.
