Being ECO-Friendly... According to EPA, "in 2005 used or unwanted electronics amounted to approximately 1.9 to 2.2 million tons. Of that, about 1.5 to 1.9 million tons were primarily discarded in landfills, and only 345,000 to 379,000 tons were recycled". We care our environment and precious natural resources. We believe a safe and clean environment is important to all people and their children. Our business operates in 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle): By offering refurbished and used electronics products, we encourage reusing the items without creating additional waste and reducing electronic waste heading to the landfills. We reuse all packaging material (if possible) when we receive return packages from our customers and vendors. To reduce waste, we pack packages with bio-degradable peanuts, which are made of cornstarch and decompose themselves in water leaving no toxic waste. To reduce energy use, we have replaced all traditional light bulbs with CFL (compact fluorescent lamp) bulbs. To reduce energy use, we set our thermostat to 78 degree Fahrenheit in summer and 68 degree Fahrenheit in winter. To reduce energy use, we educate and encourage our employees to turn off all non-essential computers at night and over the weekend. We have recycling bins throughout our office for recycling glass, metal and paper based waste. We recycle all end-of-life laser toners and ink cartridges.
