My Passion...My Therapy..the "Elflings"!!!
|
Hi! My name is Teresa and this is alittle bit ..about me.( I hate doing this stuff...there has to be a better "topic"). I guess the best place to start is...I was a Registered Nurse, Single Mom for many years....still a Mom (of a 24 year old son, Brandon)and to my hearts joy... a "Nana" now. I'm still single but after some illness...no longer a practicing "RN".I have always loved to do any kind of "art", from painting to wood crafting ,however recently a illness lured me into the world of "polymer clay art" which has become my passion!
I like to collect just about any kind of art....I love art.!! I love to paint with acrylics on canvas, wood crafts,antique cross-cut saws, and even gourds. I have sold items painted on all the before mentioned items but have given away many, many more than I've sold...........After being diagnosed with AS, (Ankylosing Spondylitis..a very rare genetic, auto immune disorder that causes complete spinal fusion as well as other body involvement ...my immune system is confused and is attacking all "good tissue" instead of the "bad stuff"...leave it to me!!!!) I began working with polymer clay and discovered that the outcome wasn't too hard on the eyes and it did keep my fingers and wrists limber and probably slowed down the devastating effects of the disease. Out of pain....came "My Elflings". They quickly became not only my therapy but my passion. I was urged...... to being harrassed by family and friends to let these "Little creatures" go...and I did in Art Shows and now just beginning on eBay. I am in hopes that I will continue to stay healthy and add more and more "elflings" (along with other stuff here and there).This adventure is one of which my entire family has been involved. They have graciously interceeded when I've needed help. I would not have been able to go where I have gone with these little Elflings had it not been for my family's love , concern and intervention. Maybe one day....we will open a "eBay store". The "elflings" have gotten quite popular in my geographic area...I would love to see their popularity spread....they have been a "gift from above" in more ways than I've mentioned. We have listed several on eBay with all of the proceedes going to charity...I believe that we should all "give back" and I have been so very "blessed".....my blessings show in their little faces, they just make you want to smile..........my sister has a Christmas tree full of them....it is a site to behold...and I can close my eyes and just see them play and jump from limb to limb, spreading their magic all over the place..It is so magical that my Mom is now converting her tree over to these little Elf*Lings..............Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and what we are about.
