A closed mouth catches no flies I hesitate to write anything about myself because it's at that point where people decide who you are even though they can't truly know anyone over the internet. No matter what is written things are always twisted and I'll give examples of this below. What it boils down to though is that you can't judge a person by the car they drive, the way they look, how they talk, where they live, etc. A person is who they are at heart. So before you judge anyone you truly have to walk a mile in their shoes. Anything less than that is ignorance. ~ A person who thinks they know everything is ignorant and destine not to learn anything new as they feel they already know it all ~ I pity these people. Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional If I say I'm 15 years old then people think I know nothing because I'm so young. If I say I'm over 60 then people think I'm too old, stuck in my ways, etc. The truth is that a 15 year old person can have just as much intelligence as a 60+ year old person (sometimes even more so). Age is truly just a number. I feel that young people have a lot to learn from older folk and, believe it or not, older folk have just as much to learn form the younger ones. Anything else is ignorance. So I've thrown out a few ages here. The truth is that I'm learning something new every day. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Now on to looks. If I'm blond then I'm not intelligent. If I have red hair then I'm a carrot top and short tempered. If I have light or dark skin then there's even more you could say (and I will not get into). If I'm short then I'm a midget or if I'm tall then I'm a giant. If I'm heavy then I'm lazy. If I'm thin then I'm anorexic. If I'm round and short then I'm probably a pear. If I'm tall and skinny I'm a bean poll (mmm I'm starting to get hungry). Truth be told, I'm average height, light hair and until, OH WELL, was, very thin (now I have a few extra pounds). As a average, thin, light haired I got treated as stupid and incapable of doing anything without assistance. When I actually had more knowledge and am far more capable than many (but less then some of course). I was bashed at work even though I was the fastest person promoted in that place in years. People don't take kindly to success of others or decent looking people. Why is that? Why can't we be happy for others? Greener grasses And then there are stereotypes about where a person lives. If I lived down south then I would be viewed as inbred and (place other names here). Without going into much more, as I don't want to offend anyone, no matter where you live there is someone that will come up with a stereotype. I, however, live in central Texas. So this makes me a good ole boy "A TEXAN" among other names I choose not to post here. When the cat's away the mice will play I also have lots of animals. This makes me a tree hugging animal activist right? More than anything I love dogs and critters! Not quite sure what this makes me but most don't take it well as it's 'just a dog'. Who's to say something is 'just'? People are smaller than elephants so does that make us 'just'. The size of something does not define what or who it is. All of my critters are far better all the way around than most people I know. I take a lot of pride in my pets. I take it further than many who have pets. First and for most I make sure they are healthy and happy. After that I have a strict program where I keep records on all my pets. Does this make me obsessed? Maybe. I do this for their well being. You should see a child's face when you give them a healthy pet. It's radiant. The icing on the cake. I could talk pets all day but I will leave that to others now. As for the tree hugger part, sure I care about the planet and the animals in it. I'm not a vegetarian as I believe in the food chain. I do however believe that animals should be treated as good as people. As a society I feel we have a long ways to go to achieve this. can't we be happy for others? I failed to make the chess team because of my height If I like the winning team then I'm a fair weather fan. If I like the loosing team then it's 'omg you like *them*?!?'. If I play sports then I'm a stupid jock. If I don't play sports or am not capable of it then I don't fit in either as there must be something wrong with me. I don't truly care about sports to be quite honest. I have Broncos and Cowboys paraphernalia though. I have the Cowboys stuff because that's my home team and who I choose to support solely because of that (no matter how good or bad their season turns out to be). The Broncos paraphernalia I have is a bit more superficial though. I have it because I like Colorado. It's as simple as that. I don't play much for sports. Truth be told, I'm really bad at 99% of them. I have bad depth perception which makes it rather hard. Oddly though, I am good at volley ball and floor hockey. I can't hit a base ball to save my life though. Make sense of that one. So you may ask, what is this guy good at? My answer to that is computers. I'm a computer geek that creates anything involved in computers. eBay auction template creations is one of my biggest hobbies and past times. If I'm not hard at work or helping someone, I'm right behind my 18 1/2 inch moniter hitting the key board creating a new design or two. Next answer is, software. I have been involved in Open Source software for many years. I at times help contribute to new ideas. Last and many times first, my RV life style. I do quite a lot of traveling across the USA. I always come back with great items to sell on eBay. Of course there is more, but now I have to get some auctions up and ready to list. And one more thought, RVing. I have one of the best set-ups around. I worked most of my life to get what I now have and own.. To be continued... Watch our Auctions...
