A few notes from us -
We always combine shipping whenever possible,
so shop till ya drop, then let us know when you are done.
We'll send you a combined invoice with your adjusted shipping costs.
(I think the most we've ever had to charge for shipping anything in the US
was $10, so no worries - you won't end up with some $30 shipping charge!
If it is going to be super heavy when combined, we'll let you know ahead of time.)
We do add around a dollar (usually less) to the actual shipping cost to help offset our expenses
on packing supplies and the cost of delivery confirmation service.
Please do note that shipping time refers to the time between your cleared payment
and when we ship, NOT the time it takes the post office to get it to you.
I only mention that, because for some reason, shipments from the St. Louis area
to the coasts are taking much longer to be delivered than they used to.
Things that used to arrive in 2-3 days now take up to 7 days (or more!) to arrive via first class mail!
There's no rhyme or reason for it, other than we've noticed the coastline states affected the most,
but it is on the post office's part, not ours!

Note on the new DSR seller star ratings:
Many buyers do not realize this, but giving sellers anything
under a "five star" rating causes us to lose privileges.
We (TKW) don't expect it automatically, of course.
We strive to give five-star service to all our customers
all the time, and that was BEFORE the new system! : )
Personally, I think the whole thing is strange -
a four-star rating, which comes out to "reasonable", which
is a reasonable rating, is actually a bad thing for the sellers!
I think the main ones who will be hurt are power sellers, who
stand to even lose more benefits if their ratings fall below
a certain "percentage" on their star totals.
This is just one more way eBay is making changes that don't treat
the sellers with respect. This is why so many of your favorite sellers
have chosen to leave eBay entirely now. Kinda sad!
Anyhoo - said all that just to say that we'd appreciate your
five stars on the ratings if you were happy with your dealings
with us. I'll play the game for a while! : )

It was a wonderful run here, but we just don't have the time or money
to continue to work with the programming changes
and fee structure
changes that eBay implements with too little notice (if any).
Perhaps the new policies will help some other sellers,
but for us, we've already made our decision.
We appreciate each and every customer we've had
(well, maybe not
those non-paying bidders so much!), and enjoyed our time here!
We've made some great friends, learned a lot, and generally

There are thousands of sellers on
the internet.
So why should you buy a product from The Katy Workshop
when there
are probably many other sellers offering the same item?
Well, first off, we try to find some unique items that
not everyone will have.
But, if we are offering the same item, we hope you compare the total final cost,
which includes shipping, handling
and delivery confirmation.
Many sellers start their items for a penny
or 99 cents, but pad the shipping costs
to cover their actual price. Come on now - you can buy their item for a penny, but the
shipping costs $20.00 or more? Um, sure.
(We don't put all the "real" item price into
a super high shipping cost!
Not only is it fee avoidance, but if you notice, those S&H-padding sellers will
refund your money, LESS S&H. That means they'll gladly refund your penny or
dollar - they already got their money in the shipping costs!)
We do charge a small handling fee
(per
ORDER, not per ITEM),
and that is to help cover expenses
on the packing supplies and delivery confirmation expenses. We don't skimp on packing
materials or use bubble envelopes that should have been thrown away six months ago!
(If you have been shopping on eBay for every long, you'll know what I mean!
Some sellers are so cheap! It drives me nuts!)
You'll get a clean, well-packaged item
shipped to you when you buy here.
We
also don't "threaten" our buyers with possibly leaving negative feedbacks and all that
mess.
The good buyers don't need to be reminded, and
the bad buyers won't care, so why even say it?
Note - our policy on
feedback remains the same on other sites too.
Even though eBay will be removing seller rights, we don't believe
in feedback slamming no matter what.
We do, however, appreciate buyers leaving us "five stars" if they have
enjoyed dealing with us. eBay is now basing a lot of seller rights on
their star system. To leave anything under five is like a spanking from
eBay, so unless we really couldn't resolve something (unlikely!),
we hope you'll have a five-star experience here all the time! : )
While we cannot control the information that eBay gathers, we want you to know that
we do not gather your personal information. When you purchase an item from us,
your shipping information comes to us as part of that transaction.
We use it to ship, but that's the end of the line.
No spam mail, no newsletters, etc. We will email you with your shipping information,
including your DC number. If you have an AOL email, there's a good chance AOL
will block our email notice though.
The Katy Workshop runs no tracking software, does not drop 'cookies'
on your computer, and won't run malicious scripts.

What payments do you accept? |
Paypal
preferred, and all methods accepted - Credit/debit/e-check/bal
transfers. E-check payments must clear before item is mailed out. For the convenience of those who do not trust Paypal, we will accept a USPS money orders (available only at post offices) accepted - NO OTHER KINDS of m/o's. Our local bank's change in policies have required this - we cannot deposit other types of money orders where we live. We also no longer accept cash, personal checks or 'bank checks' due to problems from the goobers out there! We are not a huge corporation like WalMart, and cannot afford to float the cost of bad checks. Money orders must be received in a timely manner. Your item will ship the next business day after your payment was received. All payments must be made in US dollar value only please. International buyers must use Paypal or USPS International postal money orders only. |

When should I pay? |
Buy-It-Now
item pymts expected at time of purchase. Auction pymts should be received within 7 days of auction end. USPS m/o's must be received within ten days of auction end date to complete the transaction. Please be sure to let us know if you plan to send a money order, or it will look like you don't plan to pay. We have no way of knowing your intentions or if you've mailed a payment when you don't tell us. If you send us a payment type we do not accept (like certain brands of money orders or personal/bank checks), it will be considered as non-payment. We are about as clear as we know how to be on what payments we can take. (See the section above!) We reserve the right to relist or second-chance-offer an item when a timely payment was not received. Unfortunately, the 'bad apples' have forced us to state these payment requirements. |

How will this ship? |
We use USPS for our shipping company. If the weight allows, items will go first class. Otherwise, parcel or priority mail. Priority mail is always available upon request and payment for it, even if we miss putting it in the listing. Methods offered will normally be listed in the auction itself. We don't usually sell items big enough to warrant the cost to ship UPS. Delivery confirmation included on ALL orders sent by all methods for the US. For global sales, we use international priority mail. The packaging has a preprinted tracking number, as do the the customs forms. We email our international buyers with those tracking numbers, so no one is left guessing about their order status. |

When will you ship? |
We ship every day the U.S. post offices are open (real life permitting), so your item would ship next business day after payment. We do not work on Sundays, but will answer your questions as soon as possible early on Mondays. |

Where do you ship to? |
Of course, to all the United
States of America. If you live outside the US and see an item you truly are interested in but your country is not listed, please email us BEFORE BUYING to see if we can ship to your location, and to get a quote for the shipping cost to your area would be. We use international priority mail for any country outside the US because it is trackable. Please do not request special "cheaper" international shipping methods - it won't save either of us a thing. |

Are you one of those danged 'drop shippers'? |
NO!
We NEVER use drop shipping! If we have it listed for sale, it is in our possession and ready to ship. If you are looking for something that we don't have currently listed but you saw us have before, just ask. It could be that we still carry them, and just have not relisted them. We've had times when our inventory shipments have taken over a month to get here, and then some items were not available. Because we do not control the supplier shipments, we do not believe in offering what is not in our hands. That makes for much better customer service! |

Absolutely!
We're happy to combine multiple purchases into one shipping
package. Please note that if you want to do this, we will probably need to
send you an invoice with the combined/adjusted shipping rate. (For example, if your first item was going FC, additional items might cause it to go over the FC weight limits, which can create a change to shipping methods and costs.) Also, to get discounted shipping rates, you must make just ONE (1) payment for the combined items. If you wish to pay for each purchase separately, that's okay, but we can't discount the shipping that way. |

What are your shipping charges based on? |
We
charge actual shipping costs to your zip code, plus a small
handling fee (per ORDER, not per ITEM
like some do) to help cover packing material costs and delivery confirmation costs.
(DC is not optional - we use it on all items.) We pack everything very well and use new quality materials. We won't stuff your purchase into some old cereal box, scotch tape it and cross our fingers that it gets to you some day! We also don't use 4th-generation bubble envelopes that are flat and begging to retire! (And believe me, we've been on the receiving end of some real doozies from cheapie sellers that we wondered how it ever made it here, and how they had the gall to charge us for packing and handling!) There's recycling, and then there's cheap. There is a difference! Try us, and I think you'll be happy with what you get! |

Do you use Delivery Confirmation? |
You
betcha! We use it for EVERY package shipped by USPS in the USA. We will email you with the DC number as soon as your package has been mailed off. For international buyers, international priority mail has its own pre-printed tracking numbers on the packaging, and we'll send that information to you. We don't keep anyone in the dark, or charge you extra for providing the DC information. We consider that a part of our transaction together. (Yes, there are actually eBay sellers out there that charge you for that information, for all that "time" you have cost them! Ugh...) |

Insurance : |
Insurance is not
required unless we state so in the auction. (Usually for things like glass or otherwise very breakable items.) We are not stingey (stin-gee) with packing materials, and always take care to pack items properly. If you feel better insuring it and you pay for the insurance, we'll insure it. We don't run our own "self-insured" deals either - we use USPS insurance. |

Refunds : |
The majority of the items we sell are brand new. All of our items are sold 'as is'. We spend a lot of time and go to great lengths to write clear, detailed descriptions for our listings and to have clear digital photos of the actual item you will receive. As such, we do not offer refunds unless we shipped the wrong item to you. Should you accidentally double pay us through Paypal, we don't greedily wring our hands and laugh over your misfortune - we will send you the appropriate refund! (Now, if you WANT to send us extra because you love us, just let us know it is a gift! We'll gratefully accept it! Ha!) |

Feedback : |
We love feedback as much as the next guy, but... We hope you'll be happy you chose us to do business with us, and want to leave us a positive, but it will never be required or begged for. We take the time to leave feedback AFTER you have done so, because we can consider the transaction completed to your satisfaction. We base your FB on your timely payment and polite communication. In the unusual case there was a problem, please contact us first and give us a chance to fix it for you. We are very aware of problems with retaliatory feedback (having been victims of it ourselves from non-paying bidders), but we won't leave false feedback on anyone. It isn't a game we play. However, most "problems" are normally from miscommunication, or from emails not getting through spam filters. Give peace a chance! : ) |

Well,
depends on who you ask! Ha! Sorry for such a long TOS, but better for you to know all the details than to have to guess. While the majority of eBayers are great people, there are goobers out there who have taken advantage, cheated, send bad checks or otherwise dealt with us unethically. They have forced us to restrict some things, like the type of money orders we can accept. We want to be sure everything is covered, so you feel good about shopping with us. |
