1 - A short, short biography Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Making my home in Denver.
I currently work with digital cameras. The choice of which camera I use is based on my vision for each image.
My goal is to put a visual representation of what I see in my mind onto an image, or capture those moments when I see everything line up just right. My equipment, be it cameras, software, printers, etc., is chosen for its ability to make this possible. Ie chosen to use digital photography because it allows for so much more artistic control over an image. Its more than just adjusting settings on your camera or putting light in the right spot; digital photography allows me to dip even deeper into creative art.
The quality of my work is the results of two factors: hard work and natural abilities. I realized my natural ability at 8 years old when my teacher asked the class to draw the US flag on the wall. I drew it with flowing folds and shadows and Ms. Franklin stopped by my desk and asked, ow did you learn to do that I was confused by her question because I did exactly what she had asked me to do. Then I looked around and everyone else in the class had square flags and miss shaped stripes. The hard work is hiking for miles lugging around packs of equipment, such as cameras, tripods, and survival gear, or spending a week setting up a shot so its exactly how I see it in my head, but I love every minute of it.
I am a completely self taught photographer. Which I think leaves you open to see things differently. to develop a style that is unique instead of a carbon copy of what youe been told is good.
