3rd Annual Got Water? Auction
The African Well Fund is excited to announce our third annual Got Water? Auction. Beginning Nov. 12th a variety of items will be available for bidding including: Water bottles signed by Bono, Travis Barker of Blink-182, Anti-Flag, Barry Manilow and Criss Angel. Additional items signed by Duran Duran, Tom Morello, Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy and tennis legend Ivan Lendl will also be available.
In the coming months, AWF will be implementing new projects in Liberia, Zimbabwe and Guinea. These projects will bring access to clean water and improved sanitation to thousands of people. Access to clean water saves lives; over 80% of disease in the developing world is related to poor drinking water and sanitation. A successful auction will not only help fund the projects listed above, but will allow us to implement new projects to reach even more people.
The African Well Fund is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 2002 by a group of U2 fans. Since that time, AWF has raised more than $400,000, which has been used to fund clean water and sanitation projects in sub-Saharan Africa. All donations to the African Well Fund go directly to Africare, one of the leading private, non-profit, charitable organizations assisting Africa. The African Well Fund was founded to focus on one achievable goal: providing access to clean water to everyone in Africa. The African Well Fund believes that access to water is not merely a basic human need but a basic human right.
