We are a wildly creative mother and daughter team,working together-yet seperately. An ARKWRIGHT is an archaic term: "wright" -meaning maker-of, and "ark" -a container or vessel. Joan (mom) has a store,The Arkwright and His Friends which has been a fixture in Historic Long Grove IL for the past 30 years ( Long Grove is a turn-of-the-century village of boutiques and eateries,located 30 miles NW of Chicago). She specializes in hand-crafted items-jewelry,art glass,pottery and well designed collectibles- Byer's Choice,August Moon,Williraye Studios,Lunch at The Ritz,Holly Yashi and more. Kathleen ,( daughter), an antiques dealer for the past 10 years ( Magpie Antiques) brings her inherited love of craftsmanship,and good design, her love of history ,and her amazing sense of style to choosing antiques,collectibles and vintage offerings.She is very fond of art pottery,folk art,Mid-Century Modern,Art Deco, Arts and Crafts/Mission,Victorian and Art Nouveau,vintage clothing and accessories and offering unique applications for items making them sublime.

- We pack each item extremely well and ship most items priority mail,as we've found the delivery to be quickest,and the packages are handled less.Insurance is optional,we are not responsible for damage or loss if insurance was not purchased.
