Greetings from Jacq.E.G. aka The Doll Whisperer~
My name is Jacquie Gulamhussein, I've been an artist all my life and work in many mediums. My inspiration comes from what is first and foremost found in my soul....imagination.....and my many interests including the realms of mystical magical characters that I paint as well as my art dolls from fantasy to vintage style.
(My fantasy hard sculpts & artwork including mermaids & fairies are also known as Jacq.E.G. Studios & Jacq.E.G. Gallery....many know me as the mermaid artisan.
As an internationally known doll artisan, I've been blessed with many doll stories shared by the numerous people who I've met through shows, exhibits & those who collect my art. I have learned that most anything can be used to create a doll, the only real requirement is love...that is what brings the soul of every doll to life.
My pledge as a doll artisan is to never duplicate my work...I will always maintain the integrity of each doll by creating only one original work of art...ensuring the collector they have the original. I also believe each doll and mermaid has it's own identity...it's own special personality and I try to convey each specific personality differently. I will never produce the same cookie cutter type face repeatedly on my art...if you collect my work...you will have a collection as unique as the doll itself.
My ultra talented husband designs and engineers everything from armatures to the mechanical components necessary to create accompanying props and displays.
I design and orchestrates each doll from conception to completion including using Trompe L'oeil painting techniques on the art dolls to bring them to life. I personally create and design all costuming, the accompanying props and/or accessories whenever possible.
Also joining me in this art doll making adventure is my life-long friend, Michelle R. Bachman, (aka The Doll Parts Maker Extraordinaire) who is responsible for sewing and stuffing many of the essential doll parts used in my creations. Michelle also creates wonderful mermaid jewelry found in my website's Mermaid Shop!
