ebay is NOT my life, it's my garage sale. I have a demanding day job and my night job is dad, husband, and graduate student. If you're all serious and uptight, go bid on someone else's stuff. let's keep ebay fun, ok?

my name is Mark Jones and i'm a hobbyist musician and an occasional ebay (and craigslist) bargain hunter/seller. pro & pro-sumer electronics and audio-visual gear are some of my bad habits. I've been wasting money on digital audio since the early 90s. After all these years, my lesson is to be as frugal as possible by trying out new & used gear, and then churning the equipment i don't use on ebay to buy more gear... works out to be like leasing.

I have nothing to gain by falsely advertising the items i sell. In fact, i'm painfully accurate and critical on my sales items because of karma and the "golden rule".

STANDARD SALES TERMS: (these terms are included in all auctions: any exceptions must be negotiated PRE-bid)

Communication is the key to mutual satisfaction with ebay transactions. I usually respond to emails within a day.

Feedback - is taken personally with me. To do it right, selling on ebay requires some planning and effort (go ahead, try it a few times).

In summary, ebay is my leisure activity, and i sell on my terms. If you don't like anything about my auction, DON'T BID.

Shipping - is costly and ebay's shipping policy is subject for debate. It's important that i clarify my shipping policies:

As a 10-year ebay buyer, i understand buyer's concerns with shipping. While my shipping may seem high, it's fair. If you disagree - DON'T BID. I don't have some magical seller's discount shipping account (look at my feedback score after 10 years... you think that qualifies me for a high-volume discount?). To make shipping even more costly, i pack shipments the way that i expect to receive merchandise, to ensure that items arrive the same way they left here. Quality shipping requires materials like boxes, bubble wrap and peanuts, and are included in the shipping price. If my shipping standards are too costly for you, you are not obligated to bid. But dinging me on my shipping feedback after a purchase is a shot below the belt

UPS is standard (for now) because it is available in my office complex. While USPS may save bidders money, it passes additional costs to me in time and travel expense. Bidders should factor shipping costs as a total cost for any online purchase.

Destinations are restricted to the continental U.S. No offense to distant buyers, but UPS is cost-prohibitive outside CONUS.

My standard is to ship within 5 days of payment, but i usually ship the day after payment.

Speaking of Payment - PayPal is the preferred payment method.

Returns - sorry, no returns on my sales. But bidders should rest assured that i am accurate in my descriptions.

Once again, any exceptions to the STANDARD SALES TERMS must be negotiated PRE-bid.
