Keeping Up With Change.....
Please bear with me for the next few weeks....eBay has made quite a few changes recently regarding forms of payment allowed and sooo many other things. I'm busily trying to revamp all of my listings so that I can stay out of trouble with the powers-that-be. You'll notice that I don't have as many selections as usual but all will be back to normal just as soon as I can make it happen!
But.... I have tons of great hand dyed and off-the-bolt wool ready to send to you right now at
www.TheMerryHookerWoolens.com
You'll find the same quality of woolens you've come to expect from The Merry Hooker plus more! We're adding dyeing supplies, more rug hooking supplies, books, gifts for the wool lover and, soon, tips & techniques from my years of experience working with textiles.

About The Merry Hooker
The Merry Hooker (AKA Marita) was born with a passion for all things textile. She taught herself to sew at the age of 10, to knit at the age of 12, and, with the help of a kind Swedish mentor, to weave & spin at the age of 20.
Somewhere along the way, she discovered that she actually had to earn a living, so, for a number of years, the needles, threads, fabrics & yarns had to be set aside (well, not completely... a girl has to have some fun!) in favor of her education and careers in Newborn Intensive Care Nursing and Genetic Counseling. Whew! That was a lot of years.
Lots of things changed in midlife, as they are wont to do... and she eventually rekindled her passion for textiles & began yet another career, constructing custom bedding, pillows & curtains for the design trade. Many beautifully decorated, very expensive homes later, The Merry Hooker found still another wild passion in her life....WOOL, COLOR & RUG HOOKING! So here we are, dyeing up pots & pots of lovely, colorful, textured woolens all ready to be hooked into rugs, sewn into quilts, and made into pillows, pincushions & designer coats. Come join in the fun!
Marita lives in Moraga, California right on the Hayward Faultline with her cat and, occasionally, her son, who recently began his new life as a college student in the Pacific Northwest (which is probably why she has time to dye wool & maintain this website!). She travels frequently, laughs a lot with her friends & loves to ski.
