Who am I?
|
I am a photographer and camera collector with extensive knowledge of their history, usage and repairs. In my spare time, I continuously write & read about digital and film cameras, photography, darkroom techiques, digital darkroom and camera repairs. In my professional life, I work in electronics and computers area. I am married with a wonderful woman. We have a 4 years-old daughter and another one is on the way :-)

How is this all started?
|
After shortly started my photography hobby, I decided to buy a folding camera. Then, I got a Kodak Tourist II, and I got it in a bundle with a Pentax MG, and Agfa Karat 20. I was not even paying attention to Pentax or Agfa ones, I just cared about Kodak, however, everything is changed when I got the Pentax MG in my hands. It was amazing, nearly indestrucable, and very slick. It was much more elegant than my Rebel (my main film camera by then) After that day, I added camera collecting on top my photography hobby. I started to read about the camera history and each brand etc, and started to build my camera collection.
Now, I have around 120 camera and around 150 lenses in my collection. It is still expanding.
Then about, 2 years ago, I decided to promote the usage of film cameras, that is when I started my eBay Seller advanture. Currently I am selling wide variety of film cameras and related equipment. I do it for fun and it also enables me to extend my camera collection.

About my equipment:

Update 2009: Now I have 3 digital SLRs Nikon D200, Panasonic L1, and my old friend Minolta 7D.
I also finally get into Hasselblads, now I have 500 C/M, and 2000 FC and good lens line up. Hassy optics are very sharp, very amazing especially for their age.
My other lines just got stronger, especially Olympus OM, Minolta XE, XD families, Rollei reflex cameras, Mamiya Lens line up. I guess now I have about 150 cameras.
As of 2007: As I said, I have about 120 cameras and as many lenses, I mainly use my Konica-Minolta Maxxum 7D for my digital purposes. For film, my main 35mm film cameras are Canon A1, Olympus OM2n, FED2, Canon EOS-1, Minolta XG-M. For medium format, I use Mamiya 645 Super, Bronica ETRS, Yashicamat 124G, and Pentax 645. My strongest lens line-ups are with Minolta AF, Canon FD, Mamiya 645, Bronica ETRS, and Minolta MD.
I always like to pick up one of the cameras in my collection and go to the field with that. I can not expess more, how I like the variety and choices. Amazing feeling.
