For as long as I can remember, I have always wished I would have lived in the early 1800’s, where people worked hard, lived off the land, and life was simple!
I remember the first time I visited Mount Vernon, home of George Washington in Virginia. I was ready to move in.
I taught myself how to sew at the age of 11. I used to sew all of my own clothes, along with clothes for my twin sisters.
While searching Ebay one day, I stumbled upon primitive dolls. I have always had a love for dolls and have a small collection that I had purchased at craft shows throughout the years. I purchased my first primitive doll pattern, and I was hooked.
Creating dolls is the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done in my life. There is just something about starting with a flat piece of fabric and watching it evolve into a doll, personality and all.
I spend a lot of time creating my dolls, with a lot of attention on the special details. I want each and every one of my creations to last a lifetime, something that can be handed down and cherished for years to come.
I have also started putting a few of my creations into pattern form to share with others. My patterns are very detailed and easy enough for even the beginner.
