www.TheVintageDoctor.com

Well, well, well... If it isn't the millions of eBay minions. My name is Sarah and I've been selling on eBay for about 5 years now, and sewing DIY apparel for much much longer - yes kiddies, waaaaaaaaaaay before eBay even existed. It has quickly grown from just a hobby into an indispensable love. Perhaps a way to get that infamous post-collegiate angst out. All of your business means worlds to me, and I’m guessing that the U.S. Department of Education loves you too. Go student loans!

All of my creations are of extremely high quality and will NOT fall apart on you! I use a White Quilter's Star Sewing Machine, a White Superlock Serger, as well as a professional grommet machine press, so my auctions are always guaranteed to be of a professional element. ALL knit fabrics are pieced together with WOOLY NYLON - NOT regular quilting thread. This means that the seams actually EXPAND ALONG WITH the garment and snap back to their orginal shape - normal thread has no stretch whatsoever and unravels very very easily on knits.

Be aware that the starting price does not even come close to what its true value is - it is just a way to encourage early bidding. The time and materials spent on each DIY creation will far exceed anyone's expectations, so rest assured that I won't try and sell you a piece of crap. Gotta love those people that slap a ribbon on a store-bought dress with Elmer's Glue and market it as a $50 "DIY Rarity"...and they wonder why there are no bids? Duh.

Don't be fooled by other eBayers out there who are ripoff artists - ALL of my DIY apparel & patterns come straight from my head and NOT from another person's auctions! I just want to personally thank everyone from the bottom of my heart who take the time to check me out and buy my stuff - I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you guys. Hugs and big sloppy kisses!

    Das Rules

Alrighty now... Let’s just get some things straight, shall we? The forms of payment that I accept are as follows: Paypal and money orders in U.S. dollars ONLY - no Euros, Canadian loonies, nor Republican credits. My bank charges me an extra fee on top of everything else to cash these things, and they are just a pain in my ass.

I accept payment within 7 DAYS of the auction’s closing date. I believe that one week is plenty of time for all you slackers to get yer’ asses in gear. If a problem arises, email me! I am considered by most to be a very nice person and probably won’t bite your head off if you notify me of your situation. Don’t just assume that I’ll wait for you to eventually come around, 'cuz I won't sucka.

    Feedback

My policy is that I send a confirmation email to the winning bidder the day the auction ends. I wait a week for payment or any sign of life, and if neither of those has been established, I submit a non-paying bidder form. If there still is no communication 48 hours after that, then appropriate feedback WILL be left, and the item WILL be relisted. Believe me you, I am not afraid to leave negative feedback. You can’t scare me into submission with the threat of retaliatory negative feedback or black listing me to eBay. Just grow up.

This goes without saying, but I just wanted to remind people that every single bid placed on eBay is LEGALLY BINDING. Not to mention that my business is not just a fly-by-night garage-sale fling, but my JOB. I take it very seriously. Due to some recent developments, I now only leave positive feedback when it is left for me first. I used to *loath* it when sellers did that, but now I truly understand why. Don't ya hate it when one bad apple spoils the bunch? Shame shame, I know your name...

The Post Office: Insurance & Tracking

I AM DEFINITELY NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR POSTAL DAMAGE OR LOSS! If you reside in the United States, and you absolutely wouldn’t trust the Postal Service as far as you could throw it, then remember to include $1.65 for insurance! If you find that it’s been 6522346641167876 years between sending your payment and the current date, and you still haven’t received your item, then 9 times out of 10 it’s lost in the mail. If no insurance was purchased, then I’m afraid that you’re simply SOL. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS AND NO REPLACEMENTS AT MY EXPENSE!

Unfortunately, insurance (automatic indemnity coverage) for international shipments is only available if the package is upgraded to Priority Mail International. This takes about 6 - 10 days for delivery. First Class Mail International is less expensive, but takes a bit longer, as the estimated delivery time is stuck at "varies" on the US Post Office's website. If you don't mind bleeding your wallet in exchange for a speedy turnaround, then Priority is for you - just don't come crying to me about the cost, because I don't make the rules.

For domestic packages, tracking #'s only show when the shipping label was created and if/when the package was delivered. It is NOT step-by-step update on the status of an item. USPS does not offer this option with Priority Mail. The Post Office sucks.

Due to the large volume of auctions that I handle, I only ship once a week on MONDAY.

    Refunds

All of my sales are final, unless I made a ginormous mistake in the listing. There was plenty of time to email me questions about color, sizes, etc. After you receive your item, if you find that the emerald trim simply doesn’t bring out the sparkle in your baby blue eyes like you thought it would...too bad. You had your chance.

I go over all of my creations with a fine-tooth comb - before it goes on the auction block as well as before it is shipped. I also take the time to post extreme close-ups of the itty-bitty details of my pieces - just so you know what you are getting into. I hate hate hate blurry pictures and under/over-exposed lighting - you won't find that crap here.

I also list all of my measurements in inches as opposed to just S-M-L labels. Make sure to compare your individual proportions to the posted sizes!

After all is said and done, if you still find that your decision to keep the item is anything less than favorable, I have no problem with you relisting the item using my description & pictures.

    Custom Orders

I DO NOT make custom orders for tops - only my dresses and corsets! I have started to list multiple-size auctions to take care of the "you never make larger sizes" dilemma (see? I do listen to you guys!). So if you want the dress or corset, don't forget to bid on it! No matter how bad I feel for you, or how creative your excuse is for missing it, it will NOT be available for private sale after-auction - so don't ask.

The available sizes for my CORSET-STYLE DRESS are as follows:

    • A: 32" Bust, up to 26" Waist, up to 33" Hips MAX
    • B: 34" Bust, up to 28" Waist, up to 35" Hips MAX
    • C: 36" Bust, up to 30" Waist, up to 37" Hips MAX
    • D: 38" Bust, up to 32" Waist, up to 39" Hips MAX
    • E: 40" Bust, up to 34" Waist, up to 41" Hips MAX
    • F: 42" Bust, up to 36" Waist, up to 43" Hips MAX
    • G: 44" Bust, up to 38" Waist, up to 45" Hips MAX

The available sizes for my CORSET are as follows:

    • AAA: 30.5" Bust, up to 23" Waist, Length from Center Front 13.25"
    • AA: 31.50" Bust, up to 24" Waist, Length from Center Front 13.25"
    • A: 32.5" Bust, up to 25" Waist, Length from Center Front 13.25"
    • B: 34" Bust, up to 26.5" Waist, Length from Center Front 13.50"
    • C: 36" Bust, up to 28" Waist, Length from Center Front 13.75"
    • D: 38" Bust, up to 30" Waist, Length from Center Front 14"
    • E: 40" Bust, up to 32" Waist, Length from Center Front 14.25"
    • F: 42" Bust, up to 34" Waist, Length from Center Front 14.50"

I line ALL of my dresses & corsets with a 100% Cotton Muslin fabric which is pre-cleaned and pre-shrunk with heat for maximum stability. However, please do NOT simply throw your dress into the wash with the rest of your laundry! If need be, please spot-clean and then HAND-WASH COLD. Re-shape and then dry flat.

A Simple Note About Dress Sizing

Okay, I've decided to include this section because there has been some confusion about transferring personal dimensions to my dress sizes. I LIST ALL OF MY SIZES IN ACTUAL INCHES! Please do NOT email me and say, "yo Doc - I wear a size 5 dress, will this fit me? Word." ...Um, to be honest with you, I have no clue. You may be a Size 5 in Brand X, but a Size 10 in Brand Y. I repeat - THIS IS WHY I LIST ALL OF MY SIZES IN ACTUAL INCHES! A good example is me - I wear a 34C bra, but my actual bustline measures 32". "How do know what my actual measurements are?" - you may ask. It is very simple - take a tape measure and wrap it around yourself. Make the tape measure fit how you want the dress to fit - snug and not loose. Then compare your numbers to the ones listed in the size chart. Easy as pie.

    Legal Bits & Bytes

I ONLY use lawfully purchased, LICENSED t-shirts in my reconstructions. I obtain them direct from retail stores or wholesale suppliers. I do NOT screenprint/spongepaint/sharpie/bootleg or otherwise ripoff designs or logos. It is unlawful to do so. Period.

Be aware of what you buy - there are many legitimate sellers as well as bootleggers vending similar-looking goods on Ebay. If you are unsure about the origins of the item, ASK! The confusion caused by this mish-mash of genuine/counterfeit auctions has made it more and more difficult for honest sellers to clear their names. Don't buy ripoff merch - it can come back to bite you in the ass.

    Other Stuff

For the love of all that is holy - do not send me emails requesting to end the auction immediately so that you can Buy-It-Now. I list items on eBay under an auction format for a good reason! Those specific requests will be ignored and deleted.

Please don't ask me for a step-by-step tutorial on how I make my clothing/patterns, or what store/street/town I get my fabric from. I appreciate your interest, but taking the short-cut just so you don't have to buy from me is just plain annoying. I work my ass off trying to find & create the most unique styles and materials the market can offer - you don't think that I would just give those secrets away, do you?

    Rest In Peace, my love
