THE MIND MARKET

My name is George and my partner in life is, Darleen; Darty for short. I was Born September 9, 1941 and Darty was born September 7, 1943, pretty cool Huh. Now that we are retired, we thought we would try to increase our meager Social Security income with E-Bay so we resurrected The Mind Market Boutique that was born back in 1960.

Back then, we sold the latest music, over a hundred different types incense, incense burners, posters, black lights, clothing, oriental brass, Buddha’s, crosses, leather goods and jewelry .  We also had a Mail Order Business catering to our troops overseas.  After about seven good years, we sold the store and retired the Mind Market Boutique. 

Since then we graduated college, mellowed out, raised two fine daughters, have two great grandchildren, a dog, and a fine marriage that has lasted for over forty-six years and is still going strong.  God, I feel exceptionally lucky that life has been good to us and so much fun.

When we started doing E-bay we found that The Mind Market was available and so it was revived after a 40 year nap.  Our Focus for The Mind Market is primarily oriental treasures and Feng Shui Gifts, but we own several websites we can pull items from.  Now that my parents have passed, bless their souls, we found, many old cameras, camera parts, antique cameras, antiques, old drafting equipment, old silver pocket change, and many unidentifiable items that are complete and yet, I can’t figure out what they’re used for.  We have one of the first box cameras to use film instead of a plate.

So here we are sort of starting over by selling everything from strange glassware, oriental statues and curiosities, Feng Shui tips and items, with prices ranging from a few dollars up to ten thousand dollars for a Magnificent Large Chinese Black Stone Warrior Riding Tiger - RARE!, to books or anything, of interest, we can get our hands on.  A great majority of the items will be brand new, in the box and others will be used, and at times collector’s items.  In the near future, we will have websites describing and providing some background information on items such as Dragons, Ivory, Colored Jade, Singing Bowls, Wind Chimes, Water Features, and the list goes on.

Our interests are in Feng Shui, Metaphysical, Holistic Sciences, E-Bay, Landscaping, Research and Writing, and of course spending time with our Grandsons.  We have a large lanai with a pool and large Koi pond that our entire family helped to build, by hand.  Some of our Koi we have had for over 18 years and brought them down from Michigan with us.
