The Negative

I guess it happens to everyone eventually. Here is the full and true story behind that negative marring my feedback rating.

lmbpwb4qyw won my auction on July 5th, 2005. I sent an invoice, but had no other contact from her. On July 15th I got a money order in the mail, with no note or anything included stating what it was for. On top of that, the money order was made out to the wrong person: She had spelled my first name wrong, AND my last name wrong! I emailed her to tell her about this mistake, and got a rude and very short message back saying I had told her my name was "Jean" and that she hadn't received the dolls yet. This is impossible, of course, since I had used ebay's invoice form which automatically fills my name and address in. I told her this, and that it was standard practice to not mail merchandise until after payment arrived, and got no response back. I also got no email back responding to my request for her mailing address, since this information had not been included with the money order. I took the money order to the bank, and explained to them the situation, and they were willing (thank goodness) to cash it. So I cashed the money order on the 16th, boxed up the dolls she purchased, and then mailed them on the 18th to the 'return' address on the envelope. (I didn't do this in the first place, because I have had buyers who want items shipped to a different address than their 'return' envelope address.) She emailed me on the 25th complaining that the dolls hadn't arrived. I responded saying that was to be expected: they were being sent from Canada to the USA and it usually takes 10 days time for a small packet to arrive. On the 26th, she left me a negative! I was rather confused, since in the negative she states that the dolls arrived but 'stuff isnt what she says'. Apparently the dolls that I thought were madame alexander dolls, aren't. I wasn't sure if they were, since I couldn't find any distinguising 'copyright' information on the dolls either way, and said as much in the auction listing.

She gave me absolutely no chance to check the dolls ahead of time. She didn't bother to ask any questions. She didn't complain through email when they arrived. The first I heard of any problem was the negative. And it's the only negative I've gotten in over three years on ebay! Everyone else has been happy happy.

I try to operate under a 'pleased buyer' system. If she had contacted me through email I would have been happy to offer a full refund, since she is convinced that the dolls are not madame alexander. My question would be, if she is so certain, why couldn't she see that from the picture? Which was not a small one hosted by ebay, but a huge one hosted on my own server. I posted such a huge pic to make sure people would know what they were bidding on.

Ebay's non removal of feedback policy is worthless. This negative is totally unwarranted, and unfair. lmbpwb4qyw is a very rude and difficult buyer. I don't have alot of feedback, but my buyers are generally very happy. It's not my fault if lmbpwb4qyw doesn't fully read and understand the auction listing. She also has a history of using negatives to intimidate other sellers. Just go HERE and take a look at the feedback she has left for others! It's mostly negatives! I don't believe that most of the buyers she gets things from deserve such treatment.

Myself and My Otter

Greetings, and welcome!

There isn't a whole lot to tell about me. I'm a young adult, newly married, with alot of dreams and aspirations. Perhaps the grandest of these dreams is to one day own and breed River Otters. Hubby and I have apprenticed with one of the world's authorities on river otters (she's now retired) and have the support of international otter rescues and associations. For now, though, I am content to breed some of the best Russian Dwarf Hamsters in Ontario. ^.^ Which are for sale, by the way. If you'd be interested in one, and live in Southern Ontario, send me a message.

The Charity I Benefit

The Otter Habitat and Wildlife Center. Unfortunately, the Otter Habitat has had to close it's doors. After 50 years of operation tending and saving more than 300 wild animals every year (most of which were returned to the wild) a lack of funding and support has forced the center to close. Below is a picture of Jordan, one of the Otters I was fortunate enough to meet and 'adopt'. He was such a sweetie! He now lives in New York: his sister is in Ohio, and his mom and dad are in Pennsylvania.
