The drive to take my son to college was long, and I spent the time evaluating the previous 18 years, and pondering if there was anything more I needed to do as a mother, before releasing my child into the cold, cruel world. This was the fortune I got in my fortune cookie when we stopped for lunch.

I never knew my mother-in-law. She died before I met my husband. This is a picture of her in New York, a 14 year old bathing beauty in 1949. I love vintage clothing, and I love these old photos.
