Timbuktu Treasures - Treasures from Africa
Timbuktu Treasures is a family owned internet business. From 2001 to 2003 we lived in Mali as diplomats with the United States and visited many cities and villages in the country. We were overwhelmed by the rich history and beautiful creatIons. We researched quite a bit about the various African tribes in Mali and other parts of Africa to understand the significance of the tribal items. We met many artisans who create tribal products for traditional ceremonies. We worked with some of these artisans to create contemporary Items for everyday use.

We live in the Washington DC metropolitan area. In order to increase our knowledge of african art, Herb went through a nine month training program at the National Museum of African Art with the Smithsonian Museum and is now a docent with the museum.
We sell handmade artifacts and jewelry. We have built close relationships with villagers and craftsmen which allows us to bring you the highest quality. If you are not satisfied with our products, please contact us immediately.
