Well folks, I'll tell you...it all started off innocently enough...it's like this....
I kept seeing this infomercial on TV about how you could make a lot of money selling things on eBay. He even had people on the program around this fancy house with a nice pool, etc. testifying how much they had made using his program. I'm sure you have probably seen it too.
Well, after watching either part or all of this 'sales pitch' for the program about 50 or more times, I ordered the program for $39.95 + S&H. After all, I was going to retire soon and I was looking for something I could do from home to supplement my income and keep me from being bored.
After reviewing the material, I started experimenting with the wonderous world of eBay by listing some books that were gathering dust, some vinyl records that had been left behind by the kids when they moved out, some 'knick-knacks', and clothes that no longer fit.
Well, needless to say, not all of it sold but enough of it did to just whet my appetite for more knowledge, so I started buying more books about how to make it BIG on eBay. "Secrets of eBay", "Power Seller Tells All", "Insider Info About eBay', etc., you know the type...I'll bet you have some too. Anyway, you might say I was HOOKED !!!
Man, I started going to Yard Sales and Thrift Shops in search of 'stuff' to sell. I even caught myself eyeing things along the curb that had been thrown out and wondering if anything in that pile would sell on eBay...all the while my wife was shaking her head in amazement.
One thing led to another and I found myself telling my friends and family about my new found 'hobby'. Now they had 'stuff' they wanted me to sell...so, I sold my Aunts wigs, my Cousins Beatles album and my friends 35MM camera. GEEZ..it's becoming like an addiction, I need MORE STUFF...to sell.
Somewhere along the way I had read about people actually making a living selling 'stuff' for other people on consignment.
WALLA...a light bulb goes on..I can do that...I thought...So more books about consignment sales and how it works....now it's no longer a 'hobby'...it's a business...and that Boy's and Girl's is how Treasure Chest Consignments came into existence.
I still haven't gotten rich in the dollar sense, BUT..I have learned a lot about things I had not even thought much about before, I have met people that I ordinarily would have never met had it not been for this business, and I have solved the problem of what to sell next.
People will always have unwanted items they want to sell, and I have sold some pretty unusual items, including an artificial arm. There is hardly a day that goes by without someone either calling, or, dropping by the shop about 'stuff' they want me to sell for them.
I have learned to be a little more selective about what I accept on consignment, as they say...experience is the best teacher...
We offer a 'soup to nuts' service at a reasonable price, and present our items in an honest manner, pointing out any known flaws.
My only question is....
How may I be of service to You ?
