First of all I love kilims.

I am Turkish male was born in middle Anatolia where famous Cappadocia area is. 29 years old married and have a 9 months old (lovely) babygirl. I have been in handwowen rug business since primary school summer holidays by part time work in my uncles warehouse. I am the 4th generation dealing handwowen rug business in my family. But I dont know if my daughter will like to continue this family business after me.

I have opened my own shop in Istanbul when I was 19 years old. 2 or 3 times in a year I go to different villages of Turkey to collect rugs and sometimes people bring rugs from their house to sell it. Maybe you will ask why do they sell their rugs? In Turkey we had a very high inflation, so our invest is gold our mothers or wifes wear or our handmade rugs we have at home. Both of them we can use and they are the best investment too.When we need money like buying a new house or sending children to school we sell our carpets or our golds.

I think its going to be too long about Me page so I stop writing here. I just wanted you to have a little idea from whom you are buying these lovely rugs.

My shop is in Istanbul and when ever you have chance to come over please visit me, we have a cup of coffee. Because we say in Turkey "drinking a cup of Turkish coffee together builds 40 years of friendship".
