What I bring to this effort, in addition to my passion, is a strong belief in ethical dealings and honest representation. This means that I'll describe each offering to the best of my ability, price it fairly and respond fully to all questions. Some of the items I offer may be "eBay mistakes" -- a "sterling" necklace that's actually pot metal, those "19th century turquoise beads" that were really made of chalk. If they are, I'll say so and price accordingly. All items in my listings represented as "Sterling" are either marked as such or have been tested. Types and grades of the turquoise are labeled. Other stones will be accurately labeled to the best of my ability. If I'm not sure about a stone, I'll say so. If I make a mistake in the description and you are not satisfied, I'll gladly refund your money, plus shipping. eBay mistakes and successes Here's an example of an eBay mistake that I won't be offering for sale (grin): The pretty little necklace below was sold to me as containing turquoise and amber, when it actually contains plastic and chalk. I figure, though, that I got my money's worth just because of the experience. An eBay Mistake
Some eBay Successes
Here's where I'll post articles I've written, additional pictures and other information about native american jewelry that is too long to fit into the fields on the eBay template. After reading or printing the article, just click the back button on your browser to return. Articles currently available are: Common Terms Used with Native American Jewelry Other items available From time to time, I also plan to list books I'd like to share or worthy items I've come across in my perennial bargain hunting. Reference links The links below are to sites that contain useful reference material about Native American jewelry, turquoise and about other topics that may arise. Turquoise When you're buying turquoise jewelry on eBay, it's important to know a bit about turquoise. Here are some links that I've found to be good resources. Index of Turquoise Resources (About.com) Silver To verify an item's silver content, I test my unmarked "silver" using an acid solution. I got the kit I use right here on eBay. |
