TV Collector Shop with Emmy and Presentation copy info & FAQs:
A few things to note about Presentation VHS & DVDs:
- Most times Emmy & Presentation copies are NOT available in stores and feature RARE packaging. These two factors make them highly collectible and sought after.
- We only sell officially licensed versions of Emmy VHS & DVDs produced by the studio for Emmy consideration. WE NEVER SELL COPIES.
- Most copies feature promotional packaging not available in stores. Our pictures will show the packaging so you know what you’re getting.
- Most times, especially with larger box sets the items are not available sealed. So there are times when an item will be marked ‘NEW’ and won’t be sealed. We will note in the listing when an item is separated from a larger set.
- 90% of Emmy and presentation media will have a disclaimer from the studio stating it is a presentation copy that will run across the bottom of the screen throughout the program. This is normal with all viewing copies.
- There may be times when the program will switch from color to black & white for a minute or two during viewing, this is normal with some viewing copies.
- There are times when the title work or editing on certain shows is different than what you see on the show normally, this is also normal with some viewing copies.
- The good news: These items are commercial free and often times released before they are made available to the general public.
What are Emmy & Presentation VHS / DVDs?
- Emmy DVDs & VHS tapes are produced by the studio and given to members of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
- Members use these viewing copies to vote on the shows in each category, each year.
Does this copy contain the whole season?
- Typically there are a few episodes on each DVD or VHS Tape. There are times, more often with DVDs where the studio will put the entire season out for consideration. The listing will provide you with that information.
- There are a few times when an item is sealed and the episode information isn’t listed on the exterior of the packaging. In those cases we will not open the item. As a general rule of thumb; DVDs tend to have 2 hours of programming, VHS will have an hour or so. 90% of the time we’re able to provide the episode specifics.
- If it’s a mini series or made for TV movie, 99% of the time the entire program is included.
