Welcome to
Anemone Quilt Designs and Embroidery. Design digitizing
is a second career for me, as my previous endeavors have
been mostly in the medical realm. I began my
professional life as an ICU nurse, starting at a med
center then moving across country to help start an open
heart program. My endeavors there included a period as
head nurse, clinical educator, and many exhausting hours
working nights, weekends, and holidays. Having retired
from nursing, I am very grateful to have developed a
hobby which provides income, and I consider it a
blessing to be able to work at home.
My sewing
fetish began when I bought my first sewing machine at
age 12 with my Christmas money. It was a top of the line
White sewing machine on sale for $100. My latest
embroidery/sewing machine retails for $7500. Sewing
machines have come a long way! For me, the machine
embroidery bug bit in the early 90s. I am into
embroidery so much that having one embroidery machine is
not enough. I must have a backup in case one is in for
repairs. I soon discovered the fun of digitizing designs
on my own. Digitizing programs have also come a long way
since the first laborious ones. Even with the new
technology, the process can be very time
consuming-refining graphics, digitizing, test-stitching,
editing, test-stitching again, etc. I find it much more
rewarding to manually punch designs, so you will not
find any autodigitized designs among my collections.
I have
been inspired by some digitizers whose creative
abilities motivated me to seriously start putting
together design sets of my own. I have also been
dismayed by some who sell obviously pirated designs in
such a cavalier way. From the vantage point now of
investing hundreds of hours into completing my own
designs, or from the previous vantage point of spending
hundreds, or thousands of dollars on designs purchased
directly from software companies, I believe that
stealing is wrong and that copying and reselling designs
meets the criteria for stealing. As my dad told me
zillions of times: YOU REAP WHAT YOU SEW. So, if you
purchase any of my design packs, you can embroider them
on items to sell, but it is NOT OK to resell the designs
or share them. Piracy of copyrighted software, including
embroidery designs, is a problem for us all. To better
understand why, visit

Please feel free to email me with any questions. Thanks
for stopping in, and happy sewing!!!!
