Greetings!
So, you want to know a little bit about me. This will never be a best seller, but read on.
I am a teacher with 29 years of service in the public school system. I've been active in Girl Scouting for many years, having just earned my 35 year membership pin.
I love beautiful things, so I've collected a variety of shiny, sparkly, objects to look at and enjoy.
Collections
I have collected glass paperweights for more than 30 years. Since I began in high school, my first weights were inexpensive baubles that caught my eye, and most still do. Finding eBay has allowed me to expand my collection with more variety of styles and glass artists. But, being pretty unsophisticated, I still purchase those weights that are visually appealing to me. This year (2000), for my 50th birthday, my family bought me a beautiful collector's cabinet to display my favorites, but it's filling up awfully fast.
In the same vein, I began collecting kaleidoscopes in college. They are more "eye candy" for me. I have a small collection that I enjoy looking at all the time. My favorite is one I purchased from a gallery in Sedona, Arizona while vacationing there. The outside is as beautiful as the images created on the inside! As I run out of room, I have to limit my purchases!
Recently, I discovered eBay's jewelry section. I can't believe the array of inexpensive delights you can scoop up if you have enough time and patience! I've even taken up hunting special items for friends who are computerless or time impaired. I enjoy the hunt almost as much as getting a great buy or scooping up a prize as the auction clock runs out.
