About me:
I sell mostly either pawn or contemporary Navajo and Zuni jewelry and also some Zuni fetishes. A few of the contemporary artists I carry are Dennis and Nancy Edaakie, Sammy and Ester Guardian, Rudell and Nancey Laconsello, Gary Reeves, Harry Morgan and Oscar Alexius. All pawn is legitimate dead pawn from Gallup, NM. I do not sell anything foreign or non-Indian made. I am a member of the Antique Tribal Art Dealers Association, who hold their members to the highest standards.
I describe the pieces as accurately as possible, but I am not an expert, so please keep this in mind when bidding. Please email me for more pictures or other details if that would be helpful, I am happy to oblige! If I think something is not Native American, I don call it Native American. I usually err on the side of caution. Please contact me before leaving negative feedback, I am a reasonable person and will work with you.
About fake jewelry:
Please be careful about what you buy on ebay. There are many sellers out there selling fraudulent pieces. If something is not made by Native Americans and is being sold as such, that is actually a federal crime. But lots of people do it anyway. Even if the people put a disclaimer on their listing, saying the jewelry is not made by Native Americans, do you really want to support that? Fake Indian jewelry is destroying the lives of many Native artists, forcing them out of business or cutting their incomes. These fakes steal the culture of the Native people here by using their ideas, supernatural beings, and images on reproduction jewelry. Please don't support this destructive industry. Sure real Navajo or Zuni jewelry is expensive, but that's because the people need to make a living (and often take care of myriad less fortunate relatives as well)! Even if you don't buy it from me, please buy REAL Native American art. Please see my guide HOW TO AVOID BUYING FAKE NATIVE AMERICAN JEWELRY for more information.
About the pieces I sell:
My pieces are often old and vintage and as such will have a patina and may even look dirty. If it is new, I will say so in the listing. Photos usually show magnified items so that you can see important details, please refer to the measurements in the description for the actual size of the piece. Even though it might reduce the sale price of an item I always point out damage and flaws in the piece, even tiny ones. No unpleasant surprises when you open your package! Also please read important information on my policies below.
A quick note about the term OLD PAWN: To some collectors there is virtually no old pawn available any more. They don consider it to be old pawn unless it was made before about 1900. You would be hard pressed to find a piece like that on ebay and I likely won ever have one. Some people on ebay call it old pawn if they just think it is Native American and not new. I call a piece old pawn in my listing if it is a bona fide pawn item and if it looks old. Old is a relative term of course, and I admit I am making a judgment call on whether it is old. You may or may not agree with me, but if not then it is a simple matter to not bid on the item.
Return policy:
I want you to be pleased with your purchase. If I have made a mistake or misrepresentation, I will give you a FULL refund. If I described the piece accurately but you want to return it for another reason, the refund policy is as follows: I regret this but I am going to start charging a 10% restocking fee on all items returned for a reason other than my error. This is because a return costs me quite a bit of money and also is a big time consumer for me. So in cases where I did not make an error, I will refund your final auction price minus 10% minus the actual shipping charge I had to pay to mail the item to you. Shipping back will be at your cost in either case. If you opt to not put insurance on an item and it arrives damaged or doesn arrive, I am not responsible. I pack all of my items very thoroughly and I always mention any existing damage.
Here are some tips for not making a mistake in sizing of a cuff. Please be sure you measure your wrist size carefully. Measure your wrist with a tape measure, just above (to the elbow side) of the bump on the outside of your wrist. This measurement is your wrist size and the end to end measurement PLUS the gap needs to add up to this size. Inlaid pieces are NOT adjustable, don't even try or I will not refund your money. Buy these to the exact size. On cuffs with slight adjustment capacity, you only have ONE EIGHTH OF AN INCH of play in adjusting it. If the cuff is going to be more than 1/8 inch too big or too small do not buy it. I hope this helps. Also please note, the real colors of items might be slightly different that what you see on the screen due to differences in monitor color-representation. I can't warrant exact colors, sorry, so if the color is super important I would recommend emailing me. If in doubt about any sizing or other issues, contact me. Thanks!!
About the auctions:
I set the auction prices as low as possible. I don like reserve prices myself so don use them. But that means I don usually have a ive-awaystart price. The upside of that is that if you win the auction, the piece is yours. I have 100% feedback so you can trust I am dealing fairly with you. I DO COMBINE SHIPPING!
PAYING:
All buyers, either pay me within 3 days of auction close by PAYPAL or email me immediately to arrange payment by CERTIFIED CHECK OR MONEY ORDER. If you send a certified check I recommend putting tracking on it so if I don't receive it you can figure out where it went. If I don hear from you by email within 3 days of auction close, I claim the right to relist the item. If you are sending a check I need to receive the check within 12 days of auction close. COLORADO RESIDENTS NEED TO PAY THE APPROPRIATE SALES TAX. Don pay me until I send you an invoice, which will reflect the sales tax. If you are an international buyer please do not pay until I send you an invoice. I charge an extra dollar above what the shipping calculator shows for shipping internationally. Also if you are an international buyer must use Paypal. Also, please don ask me to declare a different amount than the sale price on the customs form, because I won be able to do that.
I gladly leave positive feedback when our transaction is completed. Thanks!!
