About Us!!
I've been searching high and low to find a photo that makes me look slim & gorgeous!
It's not going to happen (except in my dreams) so I decided to put this page together anyway!
For years I had the fun of traveling around the nation, working in sales, marketing, and training, to build large national and international businesses.
I traveled a lot, and got to interact with fascinating people.
My husband, Don, is my best friend!
So when he had his first heart attack about twenty years ago, I made a major career change and became a Critical Care RN.
After several years of developing my nursing skills, and monitoring Don CONTINUOUSLY, I retired from nursing a couple of years ago.
Now that we are both retired (and great-grandparents), we are using our combined backgrounds to try to make a difference in education.
Unfortunately, U.S.A. education is the laughing-stock of the globe!
In the most recent global testing among developed countries, the U.S.A. came in Dead Last!!!

PLUS, I provide tips and proven ideas for helping students succeed, IN SPITE OF THEIR SCHOOLS, in addition to the latest in education news and legislation.
Don has written a book, entitled "Set Our Teachers FREE! A Plan to Save Public Education" in which he tells about his teaching career over a 50+ year span. He shares stories and techniques about his experiences in teaching and helping students excel.
He also gives an A-Z listing of today's problems in schools.
Most importantly, the book contains The Kingsland Plan, a complete PROVEN plan for achieving excellence in public schools.
This simple, yet effective plan, could easily be implemented nationwide for a fraction of the cost and the effort government bureaucracies are promoting.

My Menagerie!
Somewhere along the way, about 19 years ago, we started rescuing abused and abandoned animals.
I'm embarrassed to say it, but the state I live in is third in the nation in animal cruelty.
Domestic violence thrives here, too!
Anyway, along with our own personal furbabies, we began to have people dropping off injured or unwanted animals.
We also brought home many animals that had been hurt (badly) by humans.
Since adoption rates in our county are less than 1% (one percent!!!), we established Shepherd's Haven almost fifteen years ago.
We are totally self-supported and so are not required to re-home animals unless we KNOW they will be loved!
Most of our babies STAY PERMANENTLY with us now that they have finally found safety, kindness & security.
Now each can live out their lives in comfort, knowing they are loved.
We have each on specialized RAW diets, complete with daily vitamins, minerals, immune builders & lotsa love.
Plus, we maintain a fully-stocked infirmary.
One of the pictures I started my "About Me" page with is of Eeedo-beedo, a Peke-a-Poo.
You can see the tooth protruding from his broken jaw.
We lost Eeedo, in February 2007, after eleven years - due to what the Vet (and numerous blood tests) said was End-Stage Renal failure.
My eBay User ID is tuxedobrennan, in honor of another Peke-a-Poo, my beloved Tux,
who passed on February 3, 2003, after ten years with me.
Our publishing company was renamed Tuxedo Press Publications, in February, in honor of Tuxie & Eeedo-Beedo.

I still miss them both (and others) everyday, but we stay busy.
We are currently at 30 dogs (all ages, sizes and breeds) and 7 cats (all Feline Leukemia positive & from formerly feral communities).
We have our Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior groups.
We are firm practitioners of spay and neuter, so we do not contribute to the pet over-population epidemic.
Our local Animal Control officer called Shepherd's Haven "doggy heaven" when he visited for inspections.
Until he retired a few months ago, he gave us captured puppies, rather than having to kill them.
This gave us time to get them healthy and find loving homes for them, instead of a lethal injection.
Unfortunately, our new Animal Control officer, who agreed to continue working with us to give puppies a chance for a good life, does not communicate with us, other than to wave as he drives by.
We Need Help!
Shepherd's Haven is a private, no-kill animal sanctuary. But the price of dog and cat food has been skyrocketing, as have medical supplies. You can help us continue to feed and provide veterinary care for rescued dogs and cats.

Both Don & I feel blessed to have so much love in our lives.
I'm especially grateful to have discovered eBay, so I can stay home with my DollBaby husband (and make certain he doesn't sneak candy bars). Now I get to spend time with him, our children & grandchildren, our six great-grandchildren and our furbabies.
We would like to expand the number of kennels we have, the number of fenced runs & play areas, and the number of animals we can help.
BACK TO EDUCATION ISSUES:
As two ole retired folks, we are terribly concerned with the terrible education problems across the USA.
We will be concentrating on bringing you products and information that can help YOU to help your child excel, in spite of the breakdown in schools.
We are also MOBILIZING a national movement of parents and teachers to FORCE the needed changes in our schools.
