What's Not to Love?

Why I Do What I Do: Nothing beats the feeling of finding something discarded,unwanted or less-than-perfect and recognizing its innate value. When this feeling is shared by someone else my day is complete. I'll never be able to correct all wrongs, but when possible I re-unite people with a childhood memory or spark an interest in our history. The smallest item can sometimes lead to an amazing glimpse of the big picture.

Away from it all

History/background: Born in 1950 in Detroit and slept-walked during my formative years in a small farming town. I went to U of M, joined the Army, then worked at both Ford Motor Company and General Motors. I've done everything from cook, to production work, to Journeyman Refrigeration to Purchasing, to Supervision and back again. Along the way I broke a few ceilings, hearts, and pre-conceptions. I barreled through the marriage-divorce-marriage cycle, discovered the love of my life then lost him 25 years later. Through it all, I championed underdogs and lost causes.

My love of antiques and estate sales, cooking and eating (!) became the golden thread winding through my life connecting all things. Now I find myself in a house too large filled with too many things. eBay is the outlet I have used since 1996 to share my treasures and want-to-be's. We employ a love-hate relationship. I believe eBay's phenomenal growth has brought pain and pleasure to all involved. If eBay ever conjoins with Google they will take over the world - LOL.
