My name is Shu-shu Ventura and I'm a self-taught painter.  I paint for the love of it and for the love of my subjects, animals.  I paint dogs mostly, particularly terriers, but I take commissions and paint other animals as well.  I try to capture the innocence of all animals in my paintings, as well as their unique personalities.  No mass production!  Only lots of time, detail and love in my paintings.

Me 'n' my Little Dot

I live in rural Tennessee among the pines & oaks.  I'm married to Jack and together we have one kid still at home, our Dottie the Scottie; there's a pinch of something else besides Scottie as you can see from her picture.  (I'm the one on the right...that's Dottie on the left).  Dottie is now 14 years of age and we treasure every day we have with her.  Dottie loves being an only child so we have promised her that she can be the queen of her castle for the rest of her days on this earth.  Obviously, we are in love with our furry little girl!  Although, we're just a 'pack of 3' right now, we are particularly fond of 'orphans' and rescues.  One day, we'll share our home with more 'children of another species', but for now, it's just me, Jack & 'Our Little Dot.'
