My auctions have evolved from a basic need to find a way to stop itchiness and other 'environmental allergy' symptoms. When I became pregnant with my first child, I resolved to find a way to live more comfortably in my own body, and was adamant that my baby not be 'born into' the fate of being allergic to her own home. I began by replacing all household and personal care products with 'natural' branded products to remove as many toxic chemicals as I could. Installing a household water purification system was our next endeavor. Both were steps in the right direction, and I did notice great improvement in my symptoms. Thus, a trend towards 'the natural' was set in my household...
My daughter, Indigo Rose, was born with cleft lip and palate in 1998. I knew I must continue my quest for the best nature has to offer. After each of Indigo's surgeries, she has been treated with Essential Oils. Originally, the salve I used was from a company selling natural products. Now, I make her scar therapy products myself, including "Indigo's Very Special Ointment". Corny name? Maybe. The point is, I needed *the best* I could offer for my Very Special Daughter. Indigo's VSO works...and it's natural, safe, preservative-free, and petroleum-free. Most importantly, it was Made with Love.
So, there you are...my 'jumping off' point. Since then, many different supplies have been collected, and many products have been formulated. Some are all natural. Some are just plain fun for my now 7 year-old daughter and her two younger brothers. None of my formulations are static. They continue to evolve for the good of my family and for the benefit of my customers and their families.
Part of that evolution is in 'the learning'. We all benefit from the knowledge gained through both experiment and experience world-wide. Through diligence in reading as many sides of a 'story' as are available, we are better able to make our choices. As I continue to research possible causes and treatments for my son's Autism, I'm learning more about chelation, organic acids, metabolism, IgA's, and heavy metals. Years ago, when I found out that not all components of the 'natural' products I was using were actually 'natural', I began to read. I read more, and learn more, every day. My goal is to bring comfort, a good measure of joy, and peace of mind to myself and my loved ones. As my friends and family encourage me to share my supplies and products, this comfort, peace, and joy now surrounds all of my wonderful customers!
Do something wonderful for yourself, and for *your* family. Set your cleansing bars and petroleum-laden lotions aside, and try Homemade Soaps and Lotions, Ointments & Balms. My fondest wish is that you are blessed by the products I've created with the gifts I've been given. At the very least, be blessed with the desire to create your own natural products to bring even more natural beauty to your world.
