My Other Side of the Mountain Greetings! I had been advised by an expert some time ago that it's better not to do an "about me" page because few people read them, and the few that do don't really care. But then yesterday, I was doing some pricing research & finding that while there are people with similar items to mine with lower prices, I asked myself how they can possibly sell a "genuine, natural ___ gemstone ring" for $1 and everyone get paid what they're worth in the whole transaction. The answer is: they can't... it's impossible. So I decided to go ahead & put up what we're all about anyway, regardless of whether anyone pays attention or not because our loyal customers deserve to know us & deserve to know where their items are coming from & why they sometimes may be a few dollars more than the competition. The bottom line with us is that everyone gets their fair share & you get an excellent, genuine (or at the very least thoroughly and honestly described), beautiful, useful product that will make you smile when you receive it. So who are we exactly? Well... in all simplicity, "we" are a married couple with 2 daughters and a dog. :) I generally do most of the item posting (between a regular full time job and some online college courses), and my husband does any shipping that we need done directly, and quite a bit of the photo-taking (between his own full time job and taking care of household stuff). I love doing this, and frankly, would continue to do so even if money had nothing to do with it.... though again frankly, right now, it helps fill in a few gaps that are left from otherwise living paycheck to paycheck. When I began this seriously earlier this year, I decided to simply go with products that I myself would buy. Being environmentally and culturally conscious, I started off on the path of selling natural, fair-trade, and organic items. Occasionally, the path is a bit convoluted (I found I enjoy selling general jewelry as well), but I'm still basically on the same basic path. I look for the win-win situation: everyone is as fairly treated as possible in the transaction, including myself, and also including you - our customer. And if anyone is wondering about the avatar picture on my feedback page.... that is a drawing my oldest daughter has done that reasonably resembles me.
