About Peter Tartaglia, Long Island Artist

Peter Tartaglia is a retired NYPD Lieutenant, now living on Long Island, New York.
His paintings have been featured on covers of the FIRE ISLAND TIDE - News Magazine and the year 2001 POSTER for GREENPORT, LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK.

This is a picture of Pete on the GREAT WALL OF CHINA (wearing NYPD Shirt) while there on a 1996 KIDNAP CASE. Pete worked in the MAJOR CASE SQUAD on KIDNAP cases before retiring. He travelled the country and the world in pursuit of organized criminals including asian extortion and kidnap gangs.
His paintings are predominantly Landscapes, Cityscapes and Seascapes using acrylic and or oil paint on canvas, wood or cold press paper. Recently some of his photographs have also become locally popular. He sells his paintings and quality short run reproductions at three street art shows a year in Bay Shore, NY (early June); Sayville, NY (mid-august); and Ocean Beach, Fire Island (late August). Now, of course e-bay has become a way of getting increased exposure.
