Update on Atomicplanet.net. Muhahahahaha!. As of 5-15-02, Atomicplanet.net has been ejected from EBay! I'm sorry it took a year's worth of theft of money from over 70 people by Atomicplanet.net for EBay to finally pull the plug on this shyster outfit but we can all take comfort knowing they won't be doing it to anyone else. Lets just hope they don't set up a new account and start their stealing again. I urge any of you out there who have suffered at the hands of Atomicplanet.net to contact me with your "Atomicplanet Horror Story" and maybe we can pool enough people together to force EBay to give us Atomicplanet's info so we can take legal action against them to get our money back. A nice class action law suit should put a crimp in Atomic's bank account.
Update August 2002 : Well Folks, I don't know how they managed to pull it off but Atomicplanet.net is back on Ebay and is again up to their old tricks. They've managed to wrack up another two bad auctions within the last month alone. People, you REALLY need to check a buyer/seller's feedback before auctioning with them.ESPECIALLY when it concerns a deal with Atomicplanet.net.
This wonderful fellow boned me on Feb 19th for auction # 3115457252 for about $15.00 or $16.00. He claimed to have shipped my action figure but then a couple of weeks later said he hadn't shipped it because it was damaged and he was waiting on another one. THEN a couple of weeks later he says he can't find his records of having sent it and will ship me a new one. 2 weeks later, he's no longer a registered user on eBay, he's racked up like 7 negative feedbacks for stiffing other eBay users in 2 days time and I'm unable to Neg him because he's no longer a registered user.So I filed a claim with eBay on March 29th but I doubt anything will come of it. I'm sure they got their money and once that's taken care of, the rest of us are on our own.
Some days I wish eBay, or the internet in general, came with a " Bitchslap That Person " button. I'd have to replace that key on my keyboard every other week....
After 1 1/2 months of e-mails and phone calls and waiting, 12 very beat up figures arrived in a box. This should of been ok except that I was owed 14 figures...not 12. After calling and e-mailing them for a couple of weeks, I finally got a hold of Marc, the eBay guy at AdventurePlanet and he tells me that they couldn't find the last 2 figures in their warehouse, would a set of substitutes do? I said sure, we agreed on what they would be and when they would ship and other particulars and I hang up. 3 weeks later, still no figures or the delivery confirmation number e-mailed to me nor anything else we agreed upon gets done by them.
I'm back on the phone and again, I'm given the run-around for a week or more until I get Marc again. By now their AdventurePlanet account has been dumped by eBay and they restarted a new account as AdventurePlanet2 by taking over a friend's account and changing the name to AdventurePlanet2. Again I'm assured that my 2 remaining auctions will go out by that Friday, complete with delivery confirmation and blah blah blah. 2 weeks later, still no figures and still no delivery confirmation in an e-mail. I call again and after 3 days worth of me calling back....I reach Marc again and he tells me he definetly sent them out but he must of forgot to put delivery confirmation on them and to e-mail me about shipping them. So we agree to give it one more week and if nothing shows up, to call him back. One week goes by and I call back and he tells me he has no record of ever sending out my 2 remaining figures and they will....you guessed it...... be shipping out by that Friday and he'll send me a delivery confirmation number in an e-mail.
So here it is, 4 months after the initial auctions have ended and I'm still missing 2 action figures and all calls to Marc at AdventurePlanet2 have gotten me no closer to ever getting them. Now I'm forced to once again file theft charges with the Police of this particular eBayer's town and once again, the wonderful folks of eBay refuse to lift a finger to help in any way, shape or form. Because as you well know by now...once they get their listing fees and percentage of the auction's total....you're on your own and at the mercy of the Seller.
Please, I cannot stress this enough...DO NOT TRADE WITH SELLER'S WITH MULTIPLE NEGATIVE FEEDBACKS. I don't care if they have the only item of it's kind on all of the internet....you do business with them, you're going to get boned. And PLEASE stay away from the people I list here. They are on here for a reason.
I shrug it off and pop open the box so I can take in the beauty of my newest action figure....and staring back at me is the ugliest toy I've ever seen. A 10 inch tall Dr. Evil doll from some retarded company I never even heard of. It looks like it's worth all of $1.25 and that's seriously being generous. I E-mail Tony and he replies back that he mixed up my auction with the guy who won the Dr. Evil doll. He will e-mail him and work out the problem. I'm ok with this and I wait. 2 days go by and I'm still waiting. 2 more days go by and I'm still waiting. I e-mail Tony back and ask him what's up. " The guy never got back to me. I'll e-mail him again and let you know." 2 more days go by and still no word from Tony.I e-mail Tony back and I ask for an exchange or a refund. He tells me he has a friend who might have this action figure and he will get back to me about it. So Now the auction is starting to reach the 30 day mark when, as you all know by now, eBay ceases to take responsability for an auction unless you gripe to them.
By now, Tony has racked up an impressive 5 negatives in one month's time. All for non shipment of their items. I find this an odd coincidence.
So I file a claim with eBay in the hopes they can help out and I e-mail Tony again. Tony informs me that the guy who won the Evil doll but got my Dawn instead has never responded and if I mail back the Evil doll to him, he'll refund my money. No duh, the other guy never responded. He got an AWESOME Dawn action figure and I got stuck with a shambling horror of plastic goofiness. Of course he's not going to answer back! So I reverse the addresses on a new label, toss Dr. Ugly back into his shipping box and send him off to Tony.
Now, using 20/20 hindsight, I should of gotten a delivery confirmation on the box but I was still miffed at being ripped-off on the original shipping I paid PLUS not getting my Dawn figure, so I didn't purchase it. Guess what, 3 weeks later and 3 e-mails later, Tony claims he never got Dr. Evil. Like this was a huge surprise for me or any of you?
To make matters worse, now Tony is getting beligerent and says he's tired of the back and forth e-mails and is going to let the whole thing drop. Of course he is...he has my original auction payment....plus the figure he shipped in error to me and I've got squat..PLUS I'm out extra money for the shipping back to him. Then he claims that I am the one who's stealing from him! That's like a fat guy walking into an all-you-can-eat resturant, eating all the food before anyone else can get to the bar and then claiming he never got any...while his shirt is covered in crumbs!!
So starts a series of back-and forth e-mails that, I will admit, contained colorful words. The whole thing comes to a head when Tony informs me that he will now refund me my money but I have to apologize for swearing at him in e-mails. Since I wasn't in the wrong in this whole matter, and he swore too, I told him he was on crack and I wasn't apologizing. But I still expect back my refund. He is still obligated to either complete the auction or refund the money...whether he likes it or not. This is something people on this list of mine don't seem to understand. You sell or buy in auction on eBay, you have entered into a legally binding contract. It's that simple. Just because you don't feel like following through on it afterwards doesn't mean you're allowed to....
So Tony's final e-mail simply says..I offered a refund but u refused.
I had to spend the next hour in e-mails explaining to this poor idiot what I actually said, since his understanding of the English language seemed to be minimal...at best. In the end, it proved pointless. Poor Tony, like all the rest on the list, still suffers from a delusional state where he thinks that because he simply wants to, he no longer has to honor his auction. So, I filed my claims with eBay again and then with Paypal and now I've added Heytony123 to the scroll of shame. What's next in store for poor Tony? Well, he may not be away of this...but any kind of theft where the USPS was used is considered a federal offense. Ol Tony is in for a doozy of a time.
Tony even goes so far as to negative feedback me with a lie about having a delivery confirmation proof that I received my action figure. # 1 Tony did send me a figure but it wasn't what I ordered and I shipped it back. # 2 Tony never added delivery confirmation to the package. So he's not only a psycho and a thief, but a liar as well. Please stear clear of this fool. You'll only get burned.
Now, I don't know if it's because I draw the bad out in people because I'm cursed or I just have the worst timing on the planet but it looks like the very next day after i pay for my auction, *shnuff* racked up 12 negative feedbacks. All for non-shipping of an item or sending a fake and not what was auctioned. I mean, I know I checked their feedback and history. They had been on eBay since august of 2000. What are the odds that the very month I bid with them, almost 5 years after they started on eBay, that THAT would be the month they went bad? It's mind boggling.
So I waste no time in trying to contact them. I even get their phone number in Australia and call them. No answer. The names on the answering machine didn't match the contact names given by eBay. Now I know I'm screwed. As the days slip by and no dvd shows up and no payment is refunded..their negative feedbacks start to soar. 15 negatives for every posative. I start filing claims with both Paypal and eBay but we all know how much that's worth. Finally, 5 weeks after the end of the auction, they are removed from eBay. Too late for me and about 67 other eBayers who were burned by *shnuff*
I hate being stolen from. Lets just hope one of my claims pans out and I get a refund.
