About Me

Hello, my name is Stephen Peart.  

I have been fly fishing for trout, salmon and sea trout for over 20 years and have tied flies for the same period of time.  I have also been extensively involved in competition fly fishing.  Competion fly fishing has been largely responsible in the development of fishing flies and fishing techniques.

During my competition fly fishing career I have enjoyed a reasonable amount of success in individual and team competitions, fishing with some of the finest anglers in the U.K.  My most notable individual result was in 2002 when I won the Bob Church Angling Times Classic.

I have qualified for the England National Team on 4 occassions, winning 3 gold medals, as well having the distinction of captaining a gold medal winning team. 

From 1997 to 2003 I was a member of the successful Osprey Fly Fishing Team and over the past 6 years I have fished in all of the major team championship finals.  We had numerous second and third place finishes but it was in 2003 when we won our first major competition, the TFEO team championship.

In 2004 my current team, the Shakespeare Snipes, won the 2004 TFEO team championship.
