A Commitment to Preserving History

Our History
University Archives has been buying and selling rare documents since 1979. We have emerged as the leading document and manscript firm, with divisions and affiliates in five states, and a reputation worldwide.
What We Buy
While we specialize in American history, we also buy and sell valuable letters, documents, manuscripts, and family correspondences in all fields. Presidents, World Government, Sports, Entertainment, Literature, Civil War, Revolutionary War, Science, African-American History, and Women in History, are some of the categories in which we deal.
What Is Your Material Worth?
While the value of some items is apparent, the value of others is not. Often we encounter sellers who have discovered through an appraisal by us that an item they previously thought worthless is actually of great value. Any seller who possesses an item of unknown value is encouraged to take advantage of our appraisal service.
How to Sell
To determine an item's value, authenticity and condition, we must examine the original. Please contact us. We will discuss with you the most expedient and safe method of accomplishing an examination and appraisal. In cases where shipping is involved, we will handle your material with care, making certain that it is fully insured. Once a determination has been made of the material's value, you can be assured of receiving payment in the most timely fashion; by overnight mail if you so desire.
If you wish to donate all, or any portion, of the proceeds of your sale to the charity of your choice, University Archives will assist you every step of the way and provide you with all the proper documentation.
Our Promise to Our Clients
Integrity
University Archives has staked its reputation on treating each client with the utmost integrity. Our service is prompt and courteous.
Expertise
We maintain one of the most extensive reference libraries in the industry. Our large and knowledgeable staff meticulously researches all items bought and sold in order to verify their authenticity and historic importance.
Confidentiality
We deal privately with our clients, never revealing the source of our purchases. If necessary, we can give the seller special covenants pertaining to the time and nature of the sale of their items. To our knowledge, we are the only firm in the world that will accommodate their clients in this fashion.
Preservation
We understand that much of the material we purchase has, in addition to historic importance, a great deal of sentimental value. We can provide sellers with an exact reproduction of their material for display or archiving.
Financial Strength
We are capable of purchasing your individual item or collection, whether valued at one thousand or upwards of one million dollars.
