Hello fellow can collectors,

    My can collecting has been very slow for a while.(for years cause I'm broke) Like none at the moment. I'm trying to get a software company going. I am totally broke right now. ;) When I am able I will be getting Michigan and Wisconsin cans only. I am looking for Frankenmuth and Goebel more than anything else but am also looking for certain Pabst,Old Style and Old Milwaukee cans. I am not interested in any cans newer than 1980 or any rolled or repaired cans. I would rather have a semi rusted can than a "doctored can" (although its pretty tough to tell these days) :(. I usually limit myself to less than $100 per can as well because although I love collecting them, paying huge amounts of money is not what I consider fun collecting. Showing off how much money I can spend is of no interest to me. One interesting thing about me is the fact that I don't drink or even like beer. I just like the history and the look of the cans which is why I mostly want midwestern cans. Like everyone else I would like to get every bock can with a big goat on it that is out there but I realize the rarity of these cans now and will have to get other interesting cans.

     I had stopped collecting in about 1979 because I got bored with all the new cans coming out of breweries made just for collectors. None of these were any good because everyone kept some around. Even non collectors saved some thinking some day they would be worth something. This is really annoying with the Billy, JR and MASH cans being the most annoying. Even today on E-Bay some are trying to auction these like they are worth something. I was also too young in the seventies to get the really good cans in any condition other than dumper unless I got real lucky. I had a great time though back then with my buddies finding old horoscope Drewry's cans and Berghoff cones in Grand Rapid's MI., where I grew up.

    When I heard cans were being traded on E-bay I thought I would get my collection out of storage sell them and make a few bucks. Instead the plan back-fired when I saw all the cool cans I could get that would have been impossible to get when I was a kid. E-Bay is addictive.

Well I just have to say this... and write this down somewhere. Well first of all the "Fake" beer cans that are on sale, replicas of some of the classic cans are really annoying and I find them a terrible idea. I also want to proclaim that for now on I will only be looking for Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and Indiana cans. Maybe one or two Ohio lol
