The term "Dollar Watch" describes pocket watches that sold for $.95 to $1.25 or so, beginning in 1892 with Ingersoll, Waterbury, and New Haven. Later Western Clock (Westclox) and E. Ingraham began making them. A "dollar watch" is a practical timepiece, rugged, usually unjeweled, about 18 Size (2 inches), and sold for about a dollar from 1892 until the mid 1950s. Many other companies made them, with literally hundreds of names on the dials. Most of them are extremely interesting, such as this RARE INGERSOLL recently found. The watches survived much better than the little boxes in which they came, making the CUTE BOXES
as collectible as the watches! Here's a sample of Dave's DOLLAR WATCHES
