Riding my '28 Sunbeam TT 90 Weslake special; fast and fun.

| I've been riding/collecting old motorcycles since around 1978. I found 'Classic Bike' magazine in the early 80's, when I met an anarchist with a penchant for really old BMW's. I was thus hooked into the burgeoning motorcycle restoration scene, and began collecting bikes in earnest in 1984, evolving rapidly into a Velocette fanatic. I've been president of the North American Velo O/C many years, and now travel the globe for rallies and other events (searching for rare bikes/spares, of course). |

On my '33 mkIV KTT Velo ('the Mule') - my favorite.

| My tastes have evolved over the years; in my 20's, I loved 50's/60's Rocker machines (especially my Thruxton Velo), which evolved into my current fascination with racing machines from the Vintage era (1920-30). I've owned hundreds of motorcycles, and ride them regularly, with verve. If a bike doesn't meet my standards of roadholding, performance, charisma, and feel, I sell it! A lot of famous names have passed under my seat (SS100, Bonneville, R63, Manx, etc) but few have remained - I've concluded that reputations are often a mix of hype and personal preference! A couple of my all-time favorite machines are pictured. |
