About me - about vintage ... I'm just a girl who LOVES beautiful clothing! Maybe obsessively...but lovingly, reverently, longingly, thoughtfully…I could go on forever, I'm sure you understand! When I was young my grandmother gave me her hand painted Chanel pink silk satin scarf and a pink gossamer silk and lace “teddy” both from the 1920’s, these two gifts gave me a glimpse of the past! The sensuous feeling of the fabrics and the quality of the handwork were like nothing I had seen before, I fell instantly in love with the 1920’s! It was the beginning of a lifelong quest for beauty in the guise of what I refer to as “costume”, because I think inside all of us is a desire to portray the secret character we keep locked in our heart! In the beginning I kept closets full of lavishly embroidered 19th C. gowns and capes, 1920’s, beaded flapper dresses worthy of Daisy Fellows and early 20th. C. dresses literally dripping with lace. Time passed, closets became rooms and my poor husband watched in awe.

A magpie I am, I never stopped looking and wanting the silky slide of velvet against my skin, sparkle, glitter, the spider’s web of lace, and it’s a drug I say but what a beautiful drug! You understand don’t you? Open your closet door and look, feel, touch! There is nothing to compare with the uniqueness of quality vintage, I am happy I never looked like everyone else! No it is not for everyone, but neither are rare wines, fast cars, finely bound leather books or old cowboy boots!

Alas one can’t keep it all, my business was born, more years ago than I care to remember! I’ve met many kindred spirits over the years, I admire those who live their dreams through their own “costume”, why be normal indeed!

And on to space, the final frontier so they tell me, I will arrive on the World Wide Web, yikes!

My interests are not limited to the early part of the 20th. C. no, like any good collector my mind marches on and on and on…But quality is the connecting thread in everything I offer, no one should have to make excuses, yes I know once in a while you can, that Poiret dress with the little hurt who could possibly care!

Palm Beach Vintage has been in the business of buying and selling antique and vintage clothing and textiles since the late 1960s, we are always interested in what you have to offer and will purchase outright or sell your items on consignment. Condition is most important!

We specialize in designer clothing and accessories from the 1800s-the early 21st century, Clothing, handbags, jewelry, lingerie, evening and day wear, casual, separates, at home; Ethnic clothing and national costume, especially pre WW 1 from counties such as Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Greece, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Syria, Hungary and Persia etc. hand embroidered, needlework, textiles or clothing.

BUT ... clothing doesn't have to be designer, there have always been fantastic dressmaker dresses and fabulous "no name" clothing and accessories and sometimes labels have been removed...
