Rebecca - Vintage Royale ebay store director Rebecca from Vintage Royale Hi, I have bought and sold vintage clothing and collectibles for over twenty years at shops on Haight Street in San Francisco and at flea markets and other venues. I am a fashion lover - devouring every episode of Isaac Mizrahi's new The Fashion Show and my old favorite Project Runway. I can't walk out of a supermarket without the latest issue of Bazaar or Allure and you're never too old for Teen Vogue in my opinion. My bookshelves at home are stacked high with fashion history books about folks like Diana Vreeland, Andy Warhol and his crowd, rock and rollers and their muses, sewing techniques, renaissance and historical clothing, art nouveau and art deco style, etc. etc. I stock a wide variety of items in my Vintage Royale ebay store and tend to choose items I think are cute. I also try to stock bargains! I have a such a large amount of inventory to deal with that I would rather move items out the door cheaply and quickly than keep them sitting on a shelf with outrageous prices. Stylewise I like many looks like preppy (I grew up in Manhattan and New Jersey during the 80s when preppy fashion was at fever pitch, Lacoste alligator shirts, Fair Isle sweaters and deck shoes were de rigeur), punk and goth wear (from my teen phase, assymetrical hairdo, heavy eye makeup and lots of black lace) and 60s/70s ethnic beach girl style (I lived in the tropics for years where I learned to love body conscious, surfer chic, comfortable clothes that reflected nature's beauty.) I also LOVE classically, well designed, high end fashion (everything from Edith Head style 40s dresses to 70s Halston style gowns to 80s Japanese designers like Yohji Yamamoto and timelessly unique designers like Betsey Johnson and new icons like Rick Owens.) I simply ADORE rock star and 60s and 70s mod and glam rock fashion (as you can see in the photo collage I've added of pics of Anita Pallenberg, Bryan Ferry, Tanya Tucker and Francoise Hardy.) I also love the subdued ladylike styles of people such as Jackie Onassis and actresses in films like Peyton Place. Mia Farrow, Jean Harlow, Marilyn Monroe, Jean Seberg, Kim Novak, I could go on and on and on about fabulous movie star style! I occasionally list mens' wear as well and love the style of 60s beach boys, Nick Cave, David Bowie, James Brown, etc. I believe that fashion is as complicated as you are and dressing is an art. I offer many different styles to reflect the many different styles we ALL have inside. I tend to be a magnet for cool shoes and purses in my travels so you will often find them here at Vintage Royale. I also believe in honestly portraying items for sale and disclosing all imperfections. I bought a vintage suede coat from another seller once and the seller failed to mention a huge rip next to the pocket that had been glued closed!!!!! I felt saddened as though the seller had been sneaky and gotten over me by not mentioning this flaw. I just didn't have the energy to send the item back and complain. I liked the jacket so I had it professionally repaired but I still wish the seller had JUST BEEN HONEST! I don't ever want a buyer to feel like I did so know that I always try to promptly deal with any question or problem a buyer might have with an item I sell. Like most ebay sellers, I am a small operation (and a mother of two tots as well) and I am only human so bear that in mind also! You might have read some of my articles over the years in magazines like the Nose (where I wrote an innovative fashion style column in the 90s) or Juxtapoz (for whom I wrote many features on artists.) I presently write from time to time for Punk Globe and am compiling a book of my past features for other publications. You also might have seen my stylist work in ads for Thrasher magazine and on hipster book covers.
