Welcome to the Vinylcollector store. Everything I sell is from my personal collection. I have many nice LP's, CD's, DVD's, books, and more for auction, and available at buy-it-now prices. I keep my shipping costs low for multiple item shipments. I ship items on Saturday of each week.

Hi! I've been a music collector for about 25 years, and my hobby has gotten a bit out of control. I've got LP's and CD's on shelves, in the closets, on the floor, in the garage. It's too much, so I'm selling part of my collection on eBay. I am not a dealer, just an "out of control" collector.

All the CD's and LP's I am listing for sale were purchased for my collection. If you are not sure about my record grading system (see below), I'd suggest buying just one record from me to get a feel for my grading system.

As a buyer and seller, I've earned an excellent eBay rating that I'm very proud of. Please check out my feedback to learn more about me.

How do I grade my records?

 Every LP I sell is a record I bought for my collection. I clean my records before each playing, and I store them in plastic sleeves.

VINYL GRADING

LP are play graded on sound, not looks. Older LP from the 50 and 60, which were much better manufactured than LP from the 70-90, may have marks on the surface, yet play quietly. Ie always collected LP for good sound quality, and that is the criteria I use to rate my LP.

A lot of the Jazz LP's I'm selling are 40-50 years old. Experienced collectors understand that older LP's rated M- may have an occassional tick or groove noise. If you are an experienced record collector, I'm sure you will be pleased with my LP's and grading system (please see the 2800+ positive feedbacks from buyers I have received as proof). If you expect a 40-50 year old LP to be absolutely perfect and play as silently as a CD or a recently manufactured audiophile reissue LP, you probably should stick to CD's.

M- = Mint Minus. Plays quietly. Either a nearly new recently manufactured LP, or an older LP in excellent condition for its age. Older LP's (30-50 years old) rated M- may have an occassional tick or groove noise.
VG++ = Record may have surface noise or ticks here and there. Many rare/collector LP receive this rating. I've purchased 40 year old Blue Note, Prestige and Riverside records that were sealed, and there was surface noise on the first play...records age and deteriorate over time.
VG+ = Some noticeable surface noise, but not so much that record is not enjoyable.
VG = Definitely some major noise or other imperfections, but worth it because the record is so rare.

COVER GRADING

M- = Newer LP's still look new, and older collector's LP's look nearly new..accounting for some small fading or loss of cover gloss. I post pictures of all the LP's I'm selling so you can see for yourself.
VG++ = Still looks good, but used. Minor imperfections will be noted in listing.
VG+ = Some strong wear. Possibly seam splits and/or taped seams.
VG= Beaten senseless

I'm very picky about my records, and all these records were records that I purchased for my collection. I ship the records in their inner sleeve, outside of the cover, to avoid cover seam splits.

CD GRADING

M- = Looks new. Booklet is not worn, cd is shiny.
VG+ = Still looks good, but used. Booklet may show some wear, or cd may have some light scuffs not affecting play.
I note specific imperfections in my eBay postings. I don't use any grades less than VG+ for CD's, because I won't sell a cd that is not in good enough condition for you to enjoy it.

NOTE: Grading does not apply to jewel cases, which are easily cracked in shipping, and easily replaced. Most of the jewel cases with the cd's I'm selling are perfect, and I pack them in boxes or bubble mailers to facilitate a safe delivery to you.

SHIPPING - Media mail shipping fees for the USA are $5.00 for the first LP, or $4.00 for the first CD. After that, its $1.00 for each additional item. Priority shipping is also available. I'm happy to ship items to international locations. I usually use brand new shipping boxes for LP's, and bubble envelopes for CD's. I'm a collector, so I know how important it is to pack and ship LP's correctly.
