A bold, dramatic and colorful depiction of various subject matter on canvas. In many instances, I push the color of values as far as possible without going beyond the realm of believability. As an artist, I look for the drama, the spirit and the glow that urges me to put paint on canvas.

A Contemporary Artist

 

Hello, I am Virgilla.  Just say "Virgil la" quickly and you've got the correct pronunciation.   Each of my original oil paintings are created using oil paint.  My unique layering technique ensure that my works of art are expressive, have depth and are infused with brilliant colors.  My paintings are an extension of my inner-self, and I refuse to take shortcuts or settle for less than the best.

I love to create art and express myself artistically so I paint every moment that I can.  My bold and vibrant palette came naturally to me from the first moment I picked up a paintbrush back in 1997.  I am a self-taught artist and am strongly influenced by the Impressionists use of rich layers of paints in brilliant tones.  My paintings are accomplished with bold brush and palette knife strokes.

 

 

My artwork has been juried and is gallery represented but I have found that you, fellow eBayers, by purchasing or just reviewing my artwork have given me new energy and excitement along with a new forum for creativity which has fueled my artistic visions in new and different directions, and I want to say Thank you!
