I began
painting in 1998 with private art lessons, but I am largely self-taught through
workshops and textbooks. Currently I work in both oil and alkyds on a variety of
supports, and in transparent watercolors on paper. Occasionally I use India ink
to add detail to my watercolors. My larger oil paintings are in a chiaroscuro, layered style; my smaller oils
and my watercolors are more impressionistic. One of my true delights is in
color and its applications; I'm always striving to make my colors more vivid
and alive. I was privileged to have my work accepted by the "Call to
Arts" juried show, sponsored by "Artists Helping Artists," in
Northridge, California in the spring of 2002. My work also appeared in the Fall
2001 and Fall 2000 juried shows presented by the San Fernando Valley Art Club.
