W.C. Marks Thoughts On Ebay & Selling My Idol W.C. Fields 'Go Away Kid You Bother Me' No that picture ins't me.It's W.C. Fields and for those that don't know him he's a 1930-40's comedian who I think was the best of that era but is overlooked by many I am A mid 50's single babyboomer whoI became involed with Ebay way back in 1999. I joined so I could bid on U.S. Coins to add to my collection then later turned to selling.Ebay is not perfect[ nothing really is] there are issues I have with some of their policys but overall I have found it to be the best internet platform for selling & recommmend & talk about it to all that wil;l listen.Hopefully some of the issues will be addressed and solved in the future.You hear a lot about all the dishonest sellers but in the years I have been bidding and buying I have never had a problem.Lucky maybe But I have had problems with brick & motar stores When I first started out selling on Ebay was not easy.Trying to put a picture in the auction was a magor hassle there was no pre-formed material etc.The winning bids on my auctions were sky high, not only because there were not a lot of other sellers but the dot.com boom put a lot of extra money in some peoples pockets. Today there is more competition on Ebay & buyers are a bit more frugal.Still if you research your product give excellent customer service & back up your ware you can make a tidy amount.As in any retail bussiness when you deal with the public you will come across many different types of people & you will meet up with a few that no matter what you do they will not be happy and some may even be nasty with you. As the saying goes you can't please everybody so don't worry about the occasional negative feedback if you are doing your best it will be offset by all the postive.Most pepole know that their are some out there that just can't be pleased Listings To protect bidder privacy, when the price or highest bid on an item reaches or exceeds a certain level, User IDs will be displayed as anonymous names.
