LemonPeppo Art is all about me really.  I am Laura Tveras, owner and creator of LemonPeppo Art website gallery and store.   

I was born and still reside in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.  My father was a professional artist.  I grew up surrounded by the constant creation process in some form or another.  There wasn’t an hour in a day when my dad, Joe Bauer, wasn’t in the process of making a masterpiece, either for work or play.  Friends, associates and family members knew to come to my dad if something of an artistic nature was needed.  He never said no to a challenge.  I wish I had paid more attention to the greatness of him while he was here.  I was busy being a kid I guess.  I didn’t know he would die young and that I’d never get the chance to know him later.

For many reasons, I never pursued Art in school.  I was too shy.  Whenever an art assignment or project was required, I desperately tried to avoid it.  Often I received an “F” grade rather than submit something that would grab attention.  If ever I would rise to the occasion and do the work, people would fuss and I would cringe.  I was a silly shrinking violet and wasted what talent I was born with.

At fifty years old, I am ready to do what I can do.  If you like something, great.  If you don’t, that’s okay, too.  Everyone views things differently, especially regarding art.  I'm not sensitive to critiques.  In fact, I welcome them - good and bad - so please leave me a comment if you have one.  

Photos are all you have to determine your likes and dislikes of my work.  For that reason, everything is returnable.  Art should make you feel something - good, bad, horror, confusion, whatever - but not sorry you’re stuck with it.  Enjoy me or not, no risk.

FYI:  I also love quilting, sewing, knitting, crochet and just about all other forms of needlework.  I am a fabric-oholic and have quite a bit of vintage cloth, including barkcloth (my favorite) in large amounts uncut from the bolt.  I have made several quilts myself, both hand-pieced and machine-pieced, however, one very large nine patch is still waiting for final touches due to it's massive size.  It is ALL hand-stitched.  I started it many years ago when I just didn't know any better and believed machine-piecing was cheating. Now, my motto is "There's a lot to be said for DONE!"
